Lenovo Philippines Launches Thinkpad T400s & Why Thinkpads are The Best Laptops

Great news for Thinkpad Fans -- like me.

(I love my Thinkpad Z61m! It has companied me in almost all of my recent corporate meetings and has greatly contributed to the success of my various ventures. If you plan to get a laptop for your business, I highly suggest you get a Thinkpad. They are the best, I promise you. If you want to have peace of mind at work, get a Thinkpad.

OK, so much for my personal BIAS. Hehe. Now, on to T400s --
)

Last week, Lenovo Philippines finally launched its newest ultra-thin ultra-portable business notebook, The Thinkpad T400s - yep, with its various configurations. Weighing in at just 3.9 lbs and measuring only .83 of an inch at its thickest side lid-closed, T400s is one of the thinnest and lightest Thinkpads in history - along with the rather famous Macbook Air killer, Thinkpad X300.

What are the Specs?

Top configuration of Lenovo ThinkPad T400s
14.1″ display screen @ 1440×900 pixels
Intel Core 2 Duo SP 9600 2.53GHz (Low Voltage)
3GB DDR3 RAM
Intel X4500 Graphics
250GB SATA HDD
Built-in DVD-RW Dual-Layer or Blu-Ray
Gigabit LAN
WiFi 802.11n
5-in-1 card reader or 34mm ExpressCard
2MP webcam
Fingerprint Reader
VGA + Display Port
Bluetooth
6-cell battery (average of 6 hours battery life)

Price?

Price range varies between configuration but it could reach Php120,000+ with a 3-year warranty.

Now, P120,000 may not be particularly cheap price for a laptop but keep in mind that this is, afterall, a Thinkpad.

I always say that "Thinkpads are the best laptops created by Man and that is something that the knowledgeable won't deny." I say it because of three things:

One, Thinkpads have the best hardware - the keyboard has (close to, if not) zero flex, the plastic case just feels tough, the hinges are plain solid,

Two, Thinkpads have a classic legendary design - The design has been consistent and it runs in all lines: It's a black box. And it works -- especially in the business setting. I tell you: Black means business.

Three, Thinkpads' Active Protection System is top-notch - you don't have to worry about system crashes eating your files beyond recovery ~ Knowing that pushing one button is all it takes to get your files back. Likewise, you don't have to worry about accidental drops ruining your harddrive - the magnesium rollcage and the accelerometer protect HDD from bumps like nothing else can.

To wrap this up, here's a demo video of Thinkpad T400s courtesy of SlashGear:
