How to get the latest Windows Vista Service Pack?

NOTE: As of April 2010, the latest Service Pack for Windows Vista is still Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) released on May 26, 2009.

There are three ways to do that:

1. via Automatic Updates
2. via Manual Windows Update
3. via Microsoft Download Center

Automatic Updates:

1. Click Start , click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
2. In the navigation pane, click Change settings.
3. Select the Windows automatic updating setting that you want.

Choosing Automatic (recommended) will result to Vista automatically downloading and installing recommended updates for you computer and install them. Simply click to select the day and the time for scheduled updates to occur. You can schedule Automatic Updates for any time of day, but your computer must be on at the scheduled time for updates to be installed (d'oh!).

4. Click to select the Include recommended updates when downloading, installing, or notifying me about updates check box, and then click OK.

Manual Windows Update:

1. Click Start , click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
2. In the navigation pane, click Check for updates.

3. After Windows Update has finished checking for updates, click View available updates.
4. Click to select the check boxes for the updates that you want to install, and then click Install.

Microsoft Download Center

In this option, the first thing that you'd have to do is to determine the correct version of the service pack. Simply put, you must know whether your computer is running the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. Additionally, you must be logged on to Windows Vista as an administrator.

Then, download the correct update by clicking one of the following links.
