Internet Usage in the Philippines 2010 : How Many Filipinos Are Online? Latest Figures

Caught this on TV Patrol World last night.

The results of ITU's Internet Usage in the Philippines study is out.

As of 2010, there are already a whopping 29,700,000 Filipinos in the internet -- that's almost 30% of our entire population. (This is cool right? But don't you find the fact that we're nearing 100 Million now quite bothersome? Anyway, I'll leave that for other blogs to talk about.)

Last year, Neilsen and Yahoo published the results of their own study on the number of Filipinos online. Back then, there were around 20 Million Pinoys active in using the internet, which was 22% of our roughly 90 Million population in 2009.

Comparing the results of these separate studies, we're seeing an almost 50% increase in our internet population from 2009 to 2010.
