Nokia : Top Brand in the Philippines, According to Nielsen Survey!

Filipinos love Nokia. And we're greatly looking forward to the announcement of new and amazing phones from the company in the coming months.

Nokia, the world's number one mobile phone brand, is currently THE Top Brand in the Philippines. This was revealed in a recent survey conducted by Nielsen, the leading global information and measurement company, on consumer preferences in the Philippines. In the survey, Nokia bested other top brands such as Jollibee, Nescafe and Lucky Me among others.

According to the survey, Nokia is the dominant market leader in the country, besting other top brands mostly categorized as Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Other brands included in the list are generally established local brands that are leaders in their respective product categories.

"To be recognized as the most sought-out mobile brand and the top brand among other FMCG giants, is truly an honor. This achievement inspires us to continuously come up with more innovations so people can stay connected with the things that matter most to them," shares Ms. Aveline Siy, Head of Marketing, Nokia Philippines.

Nokia is well-known for its wide range of handset models from basic mobile phones to sophisticated smartphones. With the commitment of connecting people, the company is constantly designing products that cater to different users’ needs: entertainment, social networking, business, and more.

The exclusive Top 10 brands report was compiled by Nielsen to offer insights into the country’s consumer base, as part of a monthly focus on individual markets across the region.

One thousand respondents in randomly selected urban areas nationwide were asked through a face-to-face interview which one (1) brand of a specific product category they consider as their favorite brand. The ranking was then determined through the number of respondents who chose the brand.

The other brand giants that made it in Nielsen’s Top 10 brands list were Nescafe, Lucky Me, Energizer, Jollibee, Selecta, C2, Gatorade, Cobra, and SM Malls.

Congratulations Nikka, Mike, Aveline, Rommel, Jonix and to the whole Nokia Philippines team!

  3. I've always believed in Nokia. Though iOS and Android are on the rise, I still believe Nokia can come up with a turnaround. I just hope they continue MeeGo. I've always been a Nokia user, I'm not a fanboy though. The phones I've used through the years never let me down. From having a 6150 back then to my latest X6-00 16GB, it was such a pleasure to use a Nokia. I wanna get my hands on the N9!
