Pacquiao vs. Marquez Results : Pacquiao Wins By Decision! Twitter and Facebook Erupt With Mixed Reactions!

Contrary to earlier predictions that Pacquiao will win via an early knock-out, Manny today defeated Mexican boxing superstar Juan Manuel Marquez - who just gave probably the greatest fight of his life - via decision from the three judges; 114-114, 115-113, 116-112.

Marquez gave such a brilliant performance, pushing the Pound-for-Pound King and Filipino Boxing Legend Pacquiao to his limits, that some boxing critics and commentators like Amir Khan are saying that the latter should have been given the W. And totally unlike Pacquiao's previous fights and victories, reactions by Pinoys in social networking sites on this recent bout held in MGM Grand Arena are mixed.

Here are some status updates from Pinoy Tweeps on the Pacquiao-Marquez Fight Results:

Meanwhile, in Facebook, one TP Friend posted, "I'm a Manny fan and would like to congratulate him for winning the fight, but i strongly believe that JMM won this time." Another followed up, "Bat ganun lamog na si Manny siya pa rin panalo nagtataka tuloy ung mga British commentator expected nila si Marquez pati kami kanina nanonood nagtataka rin kami, Naawa tuloy kmi kay Marquez." [Why is it that Manny looks battered and he still won? [Even] the British commentators [are surprised with the] results because they expected Marquez to win. [...] We feel bad for Marquez.]

Every Pinoy in social networking sites seems to have an opinion about this bout and it's all good. After all, that's what social media and true democracy are all about.

How about you, TP friend? What can you say about the results? Do you agree with it?

As for me, only Pacquiao knows if he actually won the fight. Ws and Ls are but matters of consequence and only God can tell victories from defeats without making a mistake. To quote Joe Paterno, "Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good." That said, I still think Manny Pacquiao is both a hero and a legend.
