Nokia, Sony and Samsung aren't the only major smartphone companies that are holding a trump card to grab the attention of consumers for the upcoming Yuletide gadget shopping season.
The other Korean giant, LG Electronics, is likewise currently prepping to officially launch its Q4 2012 flagship Android handset, the LG Optimus G.
And from the looks of it, it will be LG's best smartphone yet.
Flaunting a massive, high resolution 4.7-inch True HD-IPS LCD screen in front and a 13 MegaPixel autofocus camera with back-illuminated sensor (finally!) for improved performance in indoor and low light conditions at the back, LG Optimus G E973 measures only 8.5 millimeters at its thickest point and features a shiny metallic rim making it one of the company's thinnest and most elegant looking handsets yet!
It looks great on the outside but its internal technical specifications are as breath-taking. The handset smoothly handles multitasking with 2GB of RAM and runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system (with planned Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade) with its Quad Core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, which - as shown in benchmark test results - completely blows the competition out of the water. Also, users will be glad to know that the phone supports 4G LTE connectivity, which will let them enjoy the fastest mobile speeds currently available, allowing them to make the most out of phone's speed and performance.
Aside from all that, LG Optimus G comes with cool value-added features like QSlide, which - kinda like Samsung's Pop-up Play feature for Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note2 - lets users watch videos while typing text messages or reading emails, among other things -- hence, making them more productive with the handset.
There's also QuickMemo, which was introduced in LG's L-series Android smartphones earlier this year, allowing users to easily capture, edit, and share what's on LG Optimus G's screen.
Lots of new features and improvements, really. But my favorite would have to be the enhancements done in the imaging department like Time Catch shot for taking multiple captures with one click of the camera button to get the best image, Smart Shutter, and Cheese Shutter.
As of writing, we're still awaiting word from LG Electronics Corporation Philippines on LG Optimus G E973's availability in the Philippines. I'm guessing though that it will be launched here around Christmas or New Year's with price tag of around Php 27,000 to Php 30,000.
