Google Nexus 7 32GB vs. Apple iPad Mini 16GB White : Which Tablet Should TechPinas Unbox First?

I think you'd all agree with me when I say that these two are the best mini slates in the world today.

nexus 7 vs ipad mini
Google Nexus 7 and Apple iPad Mini, respectively.

Got a splitting headache from trying to choose between the two - so I decided to just get both from Kimstore last week. Anyway, both are truly amazing in their own right so I guess I made the right decision. Uhm, right?

My only problem now is that I don't know which of the two I should unbox first and feature on TP. I'm staring at the two boxes and I'm already at wits' end trying to make a decision. Can you help me, TP Friends? Nexus 7 first or iPad Mini?

Google describes Nexus 7, which was created in partnership with Asus, as 'a powerful new tablet' with a vibrant, 7-inch 1280 x 800 HD resolution display. Inside its textured shell, you'll find a Tegra-3 chipset, with a quad-core CPU and 12-core GPU, making everything including apps and games, extremely fast. "Nexus 7 [running the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system] was built to bring you the best of Google in the palm of your hand. Hang out with up to 10 friends on Google+ using the front-facing camera, browse the web blazingly fast with Chrome and, of course, crank through your emails with Gmail," said Google.

Apple iPad Mini, on the other hand, flaunts a 7.9-inch 1024 x 768 pixels resolution LED back-lit IPS display and runs iOS6, the latest version of the company's mobile OS, with its 1 GHz Dual Core Apple A5 processor, similar to what's on the iPad2. At the back, on the upper left part of the unibody aluminum case, we'll find a 5 MegaPixel autofocus iSight camera with back-lit sensor, which also works as a 1080p Full HD video recorder. In front, above the display, we'll see the 1.3 MegaPixel camera (which also has a back-lit sensor) that you can use for FaceTime HD video calls over WiFi or mobile connection. "If all that we've done is to take the original iPad and reduce it, all that you would be aware of was everything that was just missing -- that there is inherent loss in just reducing a product in size. [So] what we did is we went back to the very beginning and we took the time to design a product that was a concentration of not a reduction of the original," shares Sir Jony Ive, Apple's VP for Design, about the Cupertino company's new mini slate.

Oh and, as of writing, Apple iPad Mini starts at Php 17,500 at Kimstore while Google Nexus 7 32GB version goes for Php 13,500. Not bad, I think.

So which of these two are you more inclined to get? Or do you also intend to get both?
