Samsung Galaxy S5 Leaks Hours Before Announcement? Could This Be Samsung's 2014 Flagship?

If these supposed images of Samsung Galaxy S5 are for real, then it looks like the Korean Giant's 2014 flagship smartphone won't look all too different from Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note3 -- both released last year.

I've been receiving these images in the TP Mailbox in batches since earlier today but I chose not to publish them as I wasn't sure about their veracity. However, after carefully looking at the handset's design and interface, I'm now sort of inclined to believe that there's some truth to these photos.

According to my TP Friends who emailed me the shots, Samsung Galaxy S5 will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system skinned by the latest version of TouchWiz UI with its Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset or Octa Core Exynos 6 SoC, handle multitasking with 3 GB of RAM, and have 32GB and 64GB internal storage options.

Notice the design of the phone's faux metal side-lining; We now have ''ridges' -- versus 'brushed' on SGS4 and 'grooved' on SGNote3. Also, the microUSB 3.0 port now has a flap cover. And it appears that the back cover will have a "dot matrix" kind of finish versus faux leather on SGNote3.

But they say that the most interesting feature of this release would have to be its all-new imaging sensor for even better low-light performance from the 16 MegaPixel autofocus camera at the back and clearer and more vibrant selfies from the 3.2 MP front cam. This could very well be Samsung's attempt to match or challenge Nokia's imaging prowess and leadership in the mobile scene.

Other key features, they say, include the phone's supposed IP67 Certification for being water and dust resistant and the new fingerprint sensor, which users can use to unlock the phone, purchase apps, or as a way to authorize Paypal exchanges.

So what do you think about these images, TP Friends? Do you think they're legit? If they are, will you be upgrading to SGS5 from your SGS4 or SGNote3?
