CloudFone Thrill 600FHD Octa Core 6-Inch Full HD Android Smartphone, Unveiled : Arriving in August 2014

Practically all the major local handset players - except for one - have released their flagship Android smartphones running on MediaTek's MT6592 chipset with eight cores. Cherry Mobile has introduced both the Cosmos Z2 and Infinity phablet earlier this year; MyPhone now has a best-seller in the Agua Infinity; and Starmobile's Diamond X1 and Octa have proven to be my favorite handsets from the company thus far. Everyone's already in the True Octa Core handset party except for CloudFone and that's why I got so excited and I felt really happy when I finally received this press release from the brand earlier today.

With over 3 years in the industry and more than 50 devices created, CloudFone has truly evolved and developed their different product lines: the Ice, Excite, and Thrill -- each series offering a range of products that have their own identities and specialization, focusing on a particular segment and behavior.

CloudFone Thrill series has always been the popular kid among the crowd, a true achiever and all-around performer that constantly comes with flagship devices from this faction. From its powerful processors, high-end specs, sleek designs, and long lasting battery-life, the CloudFone Thrill series has always been known to bring the latest innovations within reach time and time again.

With the coming of Q3, CloudFone continues to take the country by surprise with another line-up unlike any other. The CloudFone Thrill series introduces the latest addition to break boundaries, starting strong with the CloudFone Thrill 600FHD -- a 6-inch full HD IPS OGS smartphone powered by the the world’s first true Octa Core mobile processor, MediaTek’s MT6592 SoC.

MediaTek’s MT6592 isn’t your simple run-of-the-mill Octa Core chipset or yet another wanna-be octa-chip which can only activate four of its cores at a time; that’s just having two quad-cores working hand-in-hand pretending to be something it’s not. This chipset can actually run all eight CPU cores simultaneously with all cores capable of clocking speeds up to 2 GHz. However, it’s not just about what it can do, but also how well it does it. Configuring the MT6592, MediaTek combines the power‐efficient ARM Cortex‐A7 processor with the ARM Mali GPU, allowing the chipset to "harness the full capabilities of all eight cores" and run any task you throw at it. With this, the MT6592 is able to power amazing full HD displays that will surely dazzle those who dare look.

There are things you can't unsee and once you do, you will never be able to see things the same way again. Full HD displays mean having true 1920 pixels in width and 1080 pixels in height, packing more pixels on a smaller surface area. This does not only make them closer to each other, but also minimizes the visible space in between, producing clearer and more defined images and graphics.

More than figures and pixel talk, one's viewing pleasure does not only rely on the screen resolution alone. The CloudFone Thrill 600FHD sports an IPS OGS Dragontrail touchscreen, which optimizes the experience you see. The IPS (in-plane switching) technology and OGS (one-glass solution) bring each tap and swipe closer to the actual panels to give off true colors and accurate responses. Overall, these technologies enable the CloudFone Thrill 600FHD to showcase better color reproduction, consistent colors across wide viewing angles, and more responsive touch experience. Lastly, the CloudFone Thrill 600FHD literally tops it all off with a Dragontrail capacitive touchscreen, a protection layer of Japan's Asahi glass said to be "six times stronger than conventional glass" to keep your amazing 6" Full HD screen from bumps and scratches.

So how much will it be? No word yet from the company on the exact SRP of CloudFone Thrill 600FHD. I guess they're still trying to figure that one out. If you ask me, though, I think a price tag in the area of Php 11,000 to Php 13,000 should be just right for a device of its calibre -- especially since it's arriving a tad late. Let's see. Hopefully, they'd make it even more affordable than my guesstimate. I'd love for that to happen because - as I've told you before - I'm always on the side of Pinoy consumers and I want everyone to be able to easily purchase powerhouse devices like this one.

Update: The official SRP of CloudFone Thrill 600FHD is Php 13,999 and it's now available at all CloudFone Concept Stores, kiosks, and retail partners nationwide.
