HTC One M9 Price, Specs, and Official Press Photos, Leaked : Meet HTC's 2015 Flagship Android Smartphone!

Taiwanese electronics giant HTC has yet to formally announce its top-of-the-line smartphone this year - that will happen on March 2, 2015 at MWC in Barcelona - but some insiders have already gotten hold of the official press photos of the smartphone as well as its key technical specifications and have leaked them online.

Here's HTC One M9, TP Friends.

As you can see, the phone will don a very similar design identity as last year's flagship - the HTC One M8. M9's shell (available in champagne gold and slate grey) is also made of real metal with horizontal brushed finish and the same white and black bands found on the previous release; Even the position of the dual speakers of the face of the phone is identical. In terms of looks, one key difference between M8 and M9 is that the newer release doesn't have a secondary DOF camera at back, which many users never really cared too much about on the 2014 model.

As for the specs, they're pretty standard for a 2015 flagship smartphone. HTC One M9 is equipped with a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, 20 MegaPixel autofocus main camera with Dual Tone LED flash, 12 MegaPixel front facing cam for selfies (not UltraPixel, interestingly enough), 2 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of ROM, and Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS.

Note that while other manufacturers are putting 2K displays on their top-level releases, HTC has chosen to stick with Full HD on the M9. This - for me - is alright since it could give the device a longer uptime compared to its main competitors. Also, I actually hardly notice any big difference between 1080p and 1440p screens anyway. But of course, if a handset maker manages to give me both 2K display and long uptime this year, I will be a happy guy.

Finally, according to 'industry insiders', HTC One M9 will don a price tag of 749 Euros (or Php 37,690 with current conversion), which is almost exactly the same as the SRP of the M8 in 2014. As for its availability in the Philippines, even if HTC has already mellowed down its operations in the country, fans can still get hold of this device via the company's retailers both online and in malls.
