I'm sure many of you have already seen those really cool 360-degree videos on Youtube and Facebook that allow you to explore 'literally' everything that's happening in each scene simply by moving your smartphone or tablet while you're playing the content.

If you're wondering how those clips are made, it's quite simple: You just need the proper equipment.

And for Filipinos who are now thinking about shooting amazing 360° Videos be it for work, during out-of-town trips, while hanging out with friends and family, or for extreme sports activities, the great news is that a camera that's made specifically for it is now officially available in the country.

Ricoh Theta S

Yes! The incredible Ricoh Theta S was formally released in the Philippines by Camerahaus last December 28, 2015.

This model is the first-ever commercial 360° camera to be accredited by Google Inc. for use in uploading videos for Google Street View and even on Youtube.

Ricoh Theta S

The lightweight Ricoh Theta S can record spherical video in Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels at 30fps with a maximum recording time of 25 minutes with its 8GB of internal storage. It also captures high-resolution spherical images of up to around 14 MegaPixels and with its enlarged image sensor and F2.0 aperture lenses, more light is allowed through Ricoh's proprietary ultra-small twin-lens folded-optical system, resulting in clear shots even in relatively low-light settings.

Spherical images and videos taken using this camera can be uploaded to theta360.com, and then shared via YouTube 360 Channel, Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, and Google+. The application program interface (API) for this shooter is based on Google-supported Open Spherical Camera API for compatibility with Google's services.

Ricoh Theta S

The Ricoh Theta S comes with an updated design and user interface. According to the company, they improved the product's usability by adding a stylish but practical sure-grip with soft-touch-feel on the surface and a face-mounted LED mode indicator.

To configure settings and instantly view spherical content shot using the camera via wirelessly connected devices, simply download and launch the new Ricoh Theta S app for smartphones and tablets that users can get for free.

Ricoh Theta S is now available at all Camerahaus Concept Stores in many SM Malls nationwide. You can get it for Php 19,990, which is fairly reasonable considering the unique selling point of the product and all the accreditation that Ricoh was able to acquire for the device.
