Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Full Specs

If Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X and Apple iPhone X had a child together, it would mostly look like the all-new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. I mean, just look at it.

Update as of May 11, 2018: Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has just officially been announced in the Philippines as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. It will be available across the country within this month with an official suggested retail price of just PHP 11,990! Believe it!

This model has just been officially launched in India and it's already getting a lot of rave reviews.

And why not? It comes with a slew of cool features that we expect from an Android smartphone released in 2018.

I would like to give credit to BeeBom of India for all images that I used in this blog post.

Large 18:9 Aspect Ratio Display? Check! This one has a massive 5.99-inch FullHD+ 1080 x 2160 pixels IPS panel that gives maximum viewing space while keeping the phone's footprint manageable.

Dual Rear Camera Module? Check! Redmi Note 5 Pro comes replete with 12 MegaPixel f/2.2 PDAF shooter plus a 5 MegaPixel f/2.0 secondary optic that work together to deliver luscious bokeh effect in portrait shots.

Large Battery? Check! This handset is powered by a large non-removable 4,000 mAh Li-Po pack that ensures extended uptime, giving you peace of mind while on the road and away from an electrical outlet or powerbank.

Good Set of Internal Hardware? Yes! This model runs its MIUI-skinned Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with an Octa-Core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 and Adreno 509 based Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 processor, has 4GB and 6GB RAM options, and comes with 64GB of onboard storage expandable using the secondary nanoSIM slot that can also take in a microSD card.

And finally: It looks good! The shell is crafted from aluminum and you have that oblong camera module that serves as the model's distinguishing design element.

Now that Xiaomi has an authorized reseller outlet in the Philippines, I hope they'll start prioritizing our country in terms of product releases. That said, if and when this smartphone gets launched here by late Q1 2018 or early Q2, I think the 4GB RAM version will go for around Php 12,000 while the 6GB variant should be roughly Php 15,000.
