realme 10 Android Smartphone Unboxing and Features Overview

On November 9, 2022, international handset brand realme is slated to officially launch a new Android smartphone in the Philippines, which will surely delight their millions of fans nationwide.

Thankfully, TechPinas was chosen by our friends at realme Philippines to be one of the first to play and to review with this upcoming model.

Currently, I can't tell you too many things about this new smartphone as I signed a non-disclosure agreement that will be effective until its official announcement -- but I was told that I can show you some unboxing photos and even share some of its key features.

Ladies and gents, here's the all-new realme 10 Android smartphone.

Let's unbox it together, shall we?

Unboxing and Package Contents

realme 10 ships in this yellow-orange box, which I'm sure many of you here are already familiar with.

The branding on the package is surprisingly subtle with just the number 10 in large font and the company name printed on the cover.

At the bottom of the box, there's a list of this handset's key features, namely, the 90Hz Super AMOLED Display, MediaTek Helio G99 Chipset, 50MP Color AI Camera, and the 5,000 mAh Massive Battery.

My realme 10 review unit has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The colorway is Clash White.

I believe what I have here is also an official retail package of this model. As shown in the image below, the box contains the unit itself, the Important Information Guide, the Quick Guide, a USB Type Charging Cord, the Travel Charger, and a Soft Silicone Case so the owner won't have to buy one separately.

Design and Aesthetics

Now, let's take a closer look at the handset itself and check out its unique physical characteristics.

As you can see, the realme 10 Clash White colorway has this glittery, iridescent finish on its backplate that looks downright gorgeous and eye-catching.

Adding to the attractive aesthetic, the placement of the Dual Rear Camera Module is balanced and isn't so big that it distracts from the beauty of the panel.

In front, realme 10 flaunts a large 90Hz SuperAMOLED display that serves brilliant colors and crisp details. You'd have to wait for the launch to get the screen size and resolution -- but offhand, I can tell you that this is guaranteed to deliver an enjoyable viewing experience when watching videos, browsing websites, checking social media apps, and even when playing mobile games.

The 90Hz Refresh Rate also enables smoother screen transitions when you're navigating or swiping through the user interface with your finger.

realme 10's mid-frame is made of polycarbonate but it has chamfered edges and it comes with a shiny metallic finish. I think these subtle details make the handset look elegant and sophisticated.

The SIM card tray, which has two nano SIM card slots and a dedicated microSD card slot, is tucked neatly on the left panel of the device.

On the right panel, just below the Volume Rocker, we see the Fingerprint Scanner that's integrated with the Power Button. This is my favorite placement for this security feature as it allows the user to unlock the interface and turn on the display with just one finger gesture.

Finally, at the rear, we have the 3.5mm combo jack, one of two microphones that enable stereo sound recording, the USB Type C charging port, and the loud speaker.

Smartphones having a 3.5mm audio jack are becoming more and more rare across different price brackets. I'm glad that realme 10 still has this feature because I still have several amazing wired headsets in my collection.

Internal Hardware

As shown in the image above, realme 10 runs its realme UI 3.0 customized Android 12 Operating System with an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio G99 processor that's complemented by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal store.

Interestingly, the RAM can be boosted by up to 5GB via realme's own virtual RAM technology that borrows space from the internal storage. This can greatly augment the multitasking performance of this handset.

Also, as I've told you earlier, this smartphone has a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding storage and since it doesn't share its space with the secondary nanoSIM slot, you won't have to sacrifice dual SIM capability should you require more space for your large files.

Initial Impressions

Offhand, there are three things that I find wildly attractive about the realme 10.

First, I think its design makes it very handsome. The Clash White's shiny and iridescent finish definitely makes it a head-turner. This is a handset you won't be shy to flaunt when you're in the mall or hanging out in a cafe.

Second, the SuperAMOLED display is so nice to look at. The colors are vibrant and the details are great. Also, the 90Hz Refresh Rate allows for buttery smooth interaction with the UI.

Finally, I think the device's set of internal hardware makes it pretty capable be it for gaming or for running multiple resource-intensive applications. Although its power is not quite the same as what you'll get from the brand's high-end and flagship-level models, I think realme 10 is definitely not a slowpoke or a laggard in terms of performance.

Alright! That's all I can share for now. Stay tuned for my more in-depth review on our website and on Youtube.
