CCNA Philippines - Seminars, Workshops, Courses, Schools

Jin from Pinoyexchange wrote us this question via our Ask TP forum in PEX last week:

What's with CCNA?

Okay, I was hearing so much about CCNA on the other thread. Thing is, I don't really get why people get so inclined with it.

Can anybody here explain how that works? And why people desires to be CCNA than the other fields of ICT. Is it because they earn more doing that?

I just want to know. And yes, I'm afraid to be bashed inside their thread because they all seem to be professionals.

Hi Jin! Thanks for the inquiry!

First off, What's CCNA? [via]

ccna

CCNA is Acronym for Cisco Certified Network Associate indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

And in case you are wondering: What is Cisco?

One of the leading manufacturers of network equipment. Cisco's primary business is in internetworking products, such as routers, bridges, and switches.

Simply put, a CCNA is someone who is certified by Cisco to create computer networks - both wired and wireless. Don't get too intimidated with the acronym as there are so many institutions in the Philippines that are dedicated to making sure that we have enough CCNA's. Believe it or not, there are even CCNA courses online! :)

And yes, you are right, being a CCNA in this day and age is kind of hot since 'being connected' - in a techie-kinda-way - is definitely the way to go. It's a money cow!

Interested in becoming a CCNA? THIS SITE lists almost all available seminars, workshops, schools and courses available in the Philippines that can help you become a Cisco Certified Network Associate! Yep, complete with contact details. It's a very informative website, really. Check it out!

Good luck!
