Prepaid Load Expiration Extended by NTC !

Great news for all cellphone users in the Philippines!

filipino, texter

National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has just extended the validity period of prepaid credits via Memorandum Circular 03-07-2009! This will be implemented 15 days after NTC publishes the memorandum in a national newspaper.

Without ado, here are the new rates and the corresponding validity period (for cellphone credits from telecom companies being regulated by NTC):

• P10 or lower - 3 days
• over P10 to P50 - 15 days
• over P50 to P100 - 30 days
• over P100 to P150 - 45 days
• over P150 to P250 - 60 days
• over P250 to P300 - 75 days
• over P300 - 120 days

Amazing! Plain amazing! Thank you NTC!

But wait! It doesn't end there: NTC has also ordered Telecom companies under its regulation to add unused credits from an expired session to new credits -- whereby expiration date will be based on new loading date.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is a regulatory agency providing an environment that ensures reliable, affordable and viable infrastructure and services in information and communications technology (ICT) accessible to all. [via]
