Nokia has just leaked a few details on an upcoming phone under its C-Series entry-level line.

Check out Nokia C6 :

Sporting a large (hopefully, capacitive) touchscreen and a full QWERTY slide-out keypad, Nokia C6 definitely exudes a 'trimmed down N97' aura. You'll be glad to know too that just like Nokia's 2009 flagship release, Nokia C6 also runs on Symbian S60 5th edition OS and features 3G connectivity. (We don't have word yet if it also features Wifi connectivity but off hand, it's highly unlikely that it won't.)

What it lacks however, in comparison to N97, is a sizeable internal memory (only 256 MB vs 32 GB of Nokia N97). But even that could easily be augmented using the phone's built-in microSD card slot. Looks-wise, it ditches N97's chrome accents for a more plasticky shell.

Price?

According the Nokia's new phone naming convention, the C-Series should appeal to consumers who want good all-round functionality on a tighter budget. As such, don't expect Nokia C6 to be much pricier than the earlier announced Nokia C5, which only runs for 135 Euros before taxes.

Release date?

We don't know the exact release date but expect Nokia C6 to hit store shelves in Q2 or Q3 of 2010.

Thoughts?

I think Nokia C6 looks hot. But what's great about it is that both its function and form factor give everyone the impression that Nokia is stepping up its game bigtime. I mean, if this is how Nokia's entry level phone looks like and functions, then its flagship releases should be no less than mind-blowing.
