A few weeks back, I asked you guys which mini tablet you want me to unbox first: The iPad Mini or Google Nexus 7. The latter won by a landslide, so here you go, TP Friends.
I got the 32GB variant from my trusted online seller, Kim Lato of Kimstore. She currently sells this version for just Php 13,400 but if you think that's still a tad hefty, you can always opt for either the 8GB or 16GB variant, which go for Php 11,900 and Php 12,100, respectively.
Nexus 7 is Google's first tablet release. Created in partnership with Asus, the slate flaunts a 7-inch 800 x 1280 pixels LED-backlit IPS LCD and runs the buttery-smooth Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating with a Quad Core 1.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset. Other specifications include 1 GB of RAM, 1.2 MegaPixels front-facing camera, 720p HD video recorder, and 4,325 mAh Li-Ion battery delivering up to 10 hours of regular use.
Some users are reportedly having a hard-time removing the outer sleeve. It's actually really easy: Just make it stand like this first then slowly pull or slide the sleeve upwards while pushing the box down.
I recorded this one-take unboxing video to show you the packaging and everything that's inside the box (or maybe just to let you hear my voice again and to show you how to use a knife like a pro). If you will, check it out. I hope you like it:
So again, you get the tablet itself, the microUSB to USB cable connector, charger, manuals, and warranty card. No earphones just like the iPad Mini but considering its low price tag, that should be alright.
Are you getting a Nexus 7 for yourself or a loved one this Christmas? What do you like more about this slate? How do you think it fares against the iPad Mini?
