As I've shared on social media, I graced the invite of our friends from OPPO Philippines and its PR agency, Bridges PR, for the grand launch of the OPPO Reno10 Series 5G. At The Manila Hotel on August 3, I witnessed the full presentation of each new smartphone in this line and I recorded videos that I can share with you. Design and Build

The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is a sleek and stylish smartphone that combines good looks with comfortable handling. With dimensions of 162.9 x 74 x 8.3 mm and weighing 194 grams, it strikes a great balance between size and weight, making it comfortable to hold, use, and keep in the pocket.

Made from high-quality materials, the smartphone features glass on the front and back, giving it a refined look that's fit for various settings, including formal ones. Also, the polycarbonate midframe that has a luxurious metallic finish adds strength and elegance to the unit. These materials come together to create a premium feel that reflects quality and style.

OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G's glass back panel has an intriguing Iridescent Finish that changes tone and hue depending on how it catches the light. For me, this design element as well as the elongated circle rear  camera module with metallic accents make this model a real headturner, especially when used without any protective case.

To cater to different tastes, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G comes in three colors: Silvery Grey and Glossy Purple, which I personally prefer. This allows users to match the device with their style, making it a reflection of their personal preference.

In terms of its looks, I'd say that OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G's exquisite design merely serves as an elegant shell or vessel for the device's remarkable range of features and specifications.

Screen and Viewing Experience

The display of the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ stands out as an exceptional feature, contributing to an exceptional visual experience across a wide range of tasks, be it reading blogs, watching vlogs, or playing mobile games. The 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels, certainly offers clarity and vibrancy for various activities using the handset.

The display's 120Hz Refresh Rate elevates the fluidity of transitions and touch interactions. This high refresh rate minimizes lag when navigating the interface and enhances the responsiveness of the display, making it well-suited for activities such as browsing and multimedia consumption, especially when playing mobile games at ultra-high frame rates.

One thing I love about the display of OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is that it has ultra-slim bezels on all sides, including the bottom part. This physical feature makes the device look more premium and sophisticated.

Furthermore, the display is protected with Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star2, an ultra-tough panel that shields the screen against potential scratches and impacts. The OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G is a smartphone that is packed with imaging features that we usually find on flagship-level releases. In fact, our friends from OPPO particularly highlight the powerful imaging perfomance of this model, especially in terms of zooming in on a subject. 

OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G has a triple rear camera system that consists of a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The front-facing camera for shooting selfies has a 32MP resolution.

The 50MP Main camera uses a rather large 1/1.56" sensor and has a wide aperture of f/1.8. This combination allows it to capture a lot of light, which results in bright and clear photos even in low-light conditions. The camera also has multi-directional PDAF and OIS, which helps to ensure that photos are sharp and in focus.

The 64MP Periscope Telephoto camera, which is only available on the Reno10 Pro+ 5G in this series, supports 3x optical zoom and uses a half-inch sensor. This allows it to take sharp and detailed photos of distant objects, which is a real treat for serious mobile photographers. The camera also has PDAF and OIS, which helps to keep photos in focus even when zooming in.

The 8MP Ultrawide camera has a 112° field of view, which allows it to capture more of the scene in a single shot. This is perfect for taking landscape photos or group shots. The camera also has a wide aperture of f/2.2, which helps to keep photos bright and clear in low-light conditions.

The 32MP Front-Facing camera has a fairly large 1/2.74" sensor. This allows it to take sharp and clear selfies and groufies even in low light conditions. The camera also has AF, which helps to keep the subject in focus and adds subtle depth of field to images.

For vloggers, Youtubers, and TikTokers, the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G can also record videos in 4K at 30/60fps, Full HD at 30/60/120/480fps, and slow motion at 1080p at 240fps, which is quite impressive. The rear camera also supports gyro-EIS, which helps to keep videos steady even when you are moving. If you prefer using the front-facing camera to shoot videos, that one can record FullHD videos at 30fps.

It also comes with ColorOS 13.1, OPPO's own familiar and easy-to-use interface, adding customization and performance optimizations.

This results in snappy performance and allows the smartphone to handle tasks smoothly. I'd say that the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is probably the main feature that puts the OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G head and shoulders above the two other models in this series, the OPPO Reno10 5G and the OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, which are both understandably more affordable.

With 12GB RAM, the Reno10 Pro+ 5G handles multitasking well -- and with up to 12GB through RAM expansion, this device is made to cater to the needs of even the heaviest mobile multi-tasker, ensuring smooth performance for various tasks and apps. The 256GB UFS 3.1 Internal Storage offers fast access to apps and files, contributing to a responsive device.
