DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Review - Compact Yet Powerful Gimbal Camera For Today's Storytellers
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is now officially available in the
Philippines, bringing upgraded 4K 240fps slow motion recording,
cinematic 3-axis stabilization, built-in storage, improved creator
tools, and advanced audio features to vloggers, filmmakers, travelers,
and modern storytellers in an ultra-compact form factor.
- Creator-Centered Evolution: The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 refines nearly every aspect of the Pocket experience with stronger slow motion capabilities, smarter creator tools, improved audio features, built-in storage, cinematic Film Tones, and workflow-friendly upgrades that genuinely make content creation easier and more enjoyable.
- Compact But Surprisingly Powerful: Despite its tiny size, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 delivers stabilized cinematic footage, strong low-light performance, intelligent subject tracking, excellent portability, and creator-focused controls that appeal to vloggers, filmmakers, travelers, educators, reviewers, and social media creators alike.
- Built for Modern Storytelling: Whether you're documenting travels, filming tech reviews, producing educational videos, capturing family memories, creating vertical short-form content, or building a professional online presence, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 feels designed for how creators actually work today.
For years now, storytelling on TechPinas has largely revolved around
written content. Articles, reviews, editorials, event coverage, feature
stories, and opinion pieces have always been at the heart of what I do.
Writing remains one of the most effective ways to explain ideas in detail,
provide context, and communicate insights thoughtfully.
Over time, however, I realized that certain stories become even more powerful
when people can actually see and feel them unfold through video.
Moments become more immersive, environments become more vivid, and emotions
become easier to communicate in a more immediate and personal way.
Whether it’s documenting a product launch, capturing the energy of a live
event, filming a travel experience, recording cinematic city scenes at night,
or simply creating content that feels more dynamic and engaging, video adds
another dimension to storytelling that resonates strongly with modern
audiences. That realization pushed me to expand deeper into video content
creation alongside the written work that I continue to do for TechPinas.
Interestingly, the DJI Osmo Pocket Series has quietly become part of
that creative journey.
I’ve owned every DJI Pocket device released so far, beginning with the
original DJI Osmo Pocket, followed by the DJI Pocket 2, and later the DJI Osmo
Pocket 3. Each one helped me in different stages of my work and content
creation process.
The Original DJI Osmo Pocket introduced me to just how convenient
stabilized video could be for events, casual storytelling, vlogging outdoors,
and behind-the-scenes coverage. The DJI Pocket 2 improved portability
and audio flexibility even further, while the
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 significantly elevated the experience with its larger
sensor, improved screen, stronger low-light performance, and more mature
creator-focused feature set.
Now comes the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 -- and after spending time with
it, I honestly feel like DJI is no longer simply making compact cameras for
vloggers. The company now seems focused on building a
highly refined creative toolset for modern storytellers, creators,
educators, and professionals who want high-quality video production without
carrying around oversized gear.
That evolution feels especially relevant today because video content has
become deeply integrated into how younger consumers and professionals
communicate. People learn through tutorials on YouTube, discover products
through TikTok clips, and stay informed through short-form explainers online.
Entrepreneurs use video to market businesses, students use it for
presentations and projects, educators use it to teach lessons more
effectively, while creators and professionals use visual storytelling to build
stronger emotional connections with audiences.
Modern content creation is no longer limited to influencers or filmmakers
alone. It has become part of everyday communication, self-expression,
education, and even professional branding.
Pricing in the Philippines
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Standard Combo is officially priced at
PHP 28,990, while the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Creator Combo carries
an SRP of PHP 37,490 in the Philippines. DJI Philippines’ official
online store also lists the Standard Combo at PHP 27,990 and the
Creator Combo at PHP 34,990, making the device slightly more
accessible through select channels.
The Standard Combo already provides a strong starting point for
casual vloggers, travelers, beginner creators, and even professionals who
simply want an ultra-portable secondary camera that’s ready to shoot almost
immediately.
Meanwhile, the Creator Combo feels designed for users who are more
deeply invested in content production. The inclusion of accessories like the
DJI Mic 3 Transmitter, Wide-Angle Lens, Fill Light, Mini
Tripod, and additional carrying accessories transforms the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 into a much more complete mobile production setup
straight out of the box.
One thing I personally miss, though, is the carrying case included with
the
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo. The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 instead
comes with a dedicated gimbal lock system for protection during transport.
While the new approach does help keep the gimbal secured more directly, I
admittedly found the previous carrying case more convenient for quickly
tossing the device into a bag while adding an extra layer of overall
protection for the body and screen.
Some users online had speculated that the old Pocket 3 carrying case may have contributed to certain screen-related issues when pressure was applied inside tightly packed bags, although DJI itself has not officially confirmed this. That speculation may partly explain why DJI decided to move toward the new gimbal lock approach with the DJI Osmo Pocket 4.
Oh, and another thing. While DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo came with the
official Battery Handle, you'd have to purchase it separately if
you're getting the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Creator Combo. I guess the company
swapped this for the attachable fill light to keep the price manageable.
Launch Experience
DJI Philippines officially introduced the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 during an
intimate media and creator gathering held on April 23, 2026 at Electric
Garden in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The event simultaneously aligned
with the global debut of DJI’s new Lito Series, creating a unique
dual-launch experience for attending media personalities and content
creators.
What stood out during the launch was how strongly DJI positioned the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 not merely as a camera, but as a storytelling tool
for modern creators. The atmosphere felt intentionally creator-centric, with
discussions centered around portability, fast-paced content production,
cinematic flexibility, and how modern creators increasingly need devices
that can adapt quickly to multiple shooting scenarios.
As someone who has followed the Pocket series from the very beginning, it
was genuinely interesting seeing how much the conversation around these
devices has evolved. Earlier Pocket generations were often viewed mainly as
compact vlogging gadgets. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4, however, now feels
positioned as a far more mature platform for creators, educators,
professionals, filmmakers, and storytellers who want cinematic quality in an
ultra-portable form factor.
Design and Build Quality
One of the most impressive things about the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is how
effortlessly portable it feels. The device itself is incredibly compact and
lightweight without attachments, to the point where carrying it around
quickly becomes second nature.
Unlike larger camera setups that often require dedicated bags, multiple
lenses, spare batteries, and careful preparation before leaving the house,
the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4
encourages spontaneity. You simply grab it, power it on, and begin recording
within seconds.
That convenience matters more than many people initially realize.
Some of the best moments happen unexpectedly. A beautiful sunset during
travel, an interesting conversation at an event, sudden reactions during
product launches, atmospheric rain scenes at night, or random street
performances while exploring a city often appear without warning.
The less effort required to begin recording, the more likely creators are to
actually capture meaningful moments. That immediacy becomes one of the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4’s
biggest strengths, especially for creators whose storytelling style depends
on authenticity and capturing experiences as they naturally unfold.
Even with accessories attached, the device still remains impressively
portable. Once you attach the
Battery Handle and
Mini Tripod, the setup
admittedly becomes noticeably longer compared to the standalone unit, but
the modular design still allows the overall system to remain relatively
pocket-friendly compared to traditional camera rigs or mirrorless setups.
The elongated yet slim overall form factor of the fully assembled setup also
helps it feel far more streamlined and organized compared to carrying a
full-blown camera mounted on a separate gimbal with additional lenses,
microphones, cages, batteries, and other accessories attached. Instead of
juggling multiple bulky components, the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 keeps
much of the creator experience consolidated into a cleaner and more
manageable package that still remains lightweight enough for everyday carry
and spontaneous shooting.
The compact form factor also makes the device feel much less intimidating in
public spaces. Large camera rigs tend to attract attention and can sometimes
make environments feel staged or uncomfortable, especially when filming in
crowded locations.
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 allows
creators to shoot more naturally while blending into environments more
discreetly. That becomes extremely useful for travel creators, lifestyle
vloggers, documentary-style storytellers, and even professionals covering
live events or conventions who want footage to feel more genuine and
immersive.
The upgraded touchscreen is bright and responsive enough for outdoor usage
as well. This becomes especially important for creators who frequently shoot
under direct sunlight or while moving around different environments
throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the gimbal mechanism itself feels smooth and refined. DJI has
clearly matured the engineering behind these Pocket devices over the years,
and the overall user experience now feels far more polished and dependable
for serious day-to-day content creation.
That said, one tradeoff of the gimbal-based design is the potentially more
fragile nature of a device with several moving mechanical parts. Compared to
rugged action cameras, the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4
naturally requires a bit more care during handling, transport, and use.
It’s also important to note that the device itself is not designed to be
submerged in water without using a proper
waterproof case or
diving case accessory.
Creators who frequently shoot extreme sports, underwater scenes, rough
outdoor adventures, heavy rain conditions, or highly rugged environments may
want to keep this limitation in mind.
If ruggedness, durability, and waterproof shooting are bigger priorities for
your content creation style, the
DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro or
even the upcoming
DJI Osmo Action 6 may
ultimately be better choices over the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4. Those
action cameras are designed more specifically for harsher environments and
physically demanding shooting conditions, while the Pocket 4 focuses more
heavily on cinematic stabilization, portability, storytelling flexibility,
and polished creator workflows.
Stabilization Performance
DJI’s gimbal stabilization technology remains one of the biggest reasons
why the Pocket series stands out so strongly.
The built-in 3-axis gimbal on the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4
produces footage that immediately looks smoother, cleaner, and more
cinematic compared to ordinary handheld smartphone videos. Walking shots
feel fluid, panning movements appear controlled, and motion overall gains
a more professional and immersive quality.
At the same time, it’s worth mentioning outright that the stabilization
performance here largely builds upon the already stellar stabilization
system of the
DJI Osmo Pocket 3. The
improvements may not necessarily feel revolutionary or ground-breaking
during everyday use, but that’s largely because its predecessor was
already considered class-leading in the compact creator camera category.
In many ways, DJI simply refined and maintained a stabilization system
that was already performing at an extremely high level. That consistency
is actually reassuring for creators who loved the Pocket 3 experience and
simply wanted the same smooth cinematic quality carried over into a more
advanced and feature-packed device.
One of the most impressive aspects of the stabilization is how natural it
looks. Some smartphone stabilization systems rely heavily on aggressive
software correction, which can occasionally introduce warping effects, artifacting, or
strange visual distortions around the edges of the frame.
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4’s
mechanical stabilization creates movement that feels far more organic and
cinematic. That subtle difference becomes very noticeable once you begin
editing footage or viewing clips on larger screens, particularly for
creators who care deeply about presentation quality and visual
storytelling.
For travel creators especially, this changes the shooting experience
significantly. Instead of constantly worrying about shaky footage while
exploring cities, museums, parks, beaches, conventions, or crowded public
spaces, creators can focus more on timing, composition, movement, and
storytelling itself.
Most importantly, the stabilization helps creators communicate emotion and
atmosphere more effectively. Smooth motion naturally feels more immersive
to viewers, which makes stories feel more polished and enjoyable to watch.
What’s New and Improved vs DJI Osmo Pocket 3?
As someone who also owns the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and has already produced many
videos using it, I became very familiar with its strengths, limitations, and
real-world behavior during shoots. That experience made many of the
improvements on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 immediately noticeable during
actual use instead of simply feeling like marketing upgrades on a spec
sheet.
One of the biggest additions is 4K 240fps Recording. This
dramatically expands creative possibilities for slow-motion storytelling and
allows creators to capture movement in a much more cinematic and emotionally
engaging way.
Action sequences, travel scenes, sports moments, transitions, automotive
footage, product showcases, and even simple everyday movements suddenly gain
more dramatic visual impact. Creators who enjoy producing reels, travel
montages, lifestyle edits, gaming content, and social media videos will
likely find themselves using this feature constantly because it adds a
stronger sense of energy and emotion to visual storytelling.
Thanks to my little nephew Jalenn Cam for helping me showcase the 4K 240fps Slow Motion Video Recording prowess of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4!
The addition of Built-in Storage also becomes surprisingly practical
in real-world situations. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 now includes
107GB of internal storage, which helps creators react faster to
spontaneous moments without worrying too much about setup preparation.
Lossless Zoom While Recording is another genuinely useful
improvement. During actual shoots, creators often cannot physically move
closer to subjects without interrupting moments or affecting framing. Being
able to zoom while maintaining strong image quality allows creators to
adjust compositions more naturally and dynamically.
Here's a quick showcase how 2X lossless zoom and 4X digital zoom looks on videos recorded using the all-new DJI Osmo Pocket 4.
DJI also added a dedicated Zoom Button and customizable
C Button, both of which improve workflow efficiency significantly
during one-handed operation. These controls genuinely help creators react
more quickly during real shooting scenarios where timing can make a huge
difference.
The built-in Fill Light is another standout upgrade, particularly for
vloggers and social media creators who frequently shoot indoors or at night.
Being able to adjust brightness levels and color temperatures directly from
the camera helps improve facial lighting in restaurants, cafés, hotel rooms,
convention halls, livestream setups, and low-light environments without
requiring separate lighting accessories.
The new Film Tones feature also adds a more cinematic personality to
footage straight out of the camera. Creators who regularly upload videos
online will likely appreciate how polished clips already appear before
entering the editing process.
Meanwhile, Beautify features now include adjustable
Smoothness, Brightness, and Skin Tone levels. Creators
who frequently appear on camera for livestreams, tutorials, interviews,
educational videos, or beauty content may appreciate how these tools help
footage look cleaner and more presentation-ready without requiring heavy
post-processing afterward.
The audio upgrades are equally meaningful.
Built-in Mic Vocal Boost improves voice clarity in noisier
environments such as conventions, malls, cafés, public spaces, and outdoor
locations. Audio Zoom also creates a more immersive listening
experience by adjusting directional audio depending on framing and zoom
behavior; Although, you might want to turn this off if you're a travel
vlogger who talks a lot while zooming in to show your viewers what's in
front of you.
Together, these features help videos feel more polished and engaging even
before extensive editing begins. That becomes incredibly useful for creators
who prioritize efficiency while still wanting professional-feeling results.
Overall Video Quality at Glance
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 delivers
genuinely impressive image quality for such a compact device. In daylight,
footage looks sharp, vibrant, and detailed while maintaining pleasing
natural colors and balanced skin tones.
A huge part of that performance comes from the camera’s
1-inch sensor, which
continues to be one of the biggest advantages of the Pocket series over
many smaller action cameras and cameraphones. The larger sensor allows the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 to
capture more light and image information, resulting in better detail
retention, improved dynamic range, cleaner low-light footage, and more
natural background separation.
For creators, that translates to footage that simply feels more premium
and cinematic straight out of the camera. Skin tones look smoother and
more lifelike, highlights appear less harsh, and scenes overall retain
more depth and texture, particularly during travel shoots, indoor
recordings, city nightscapes, and atmospheric environments.
The built-in 3-axis gimbal stabilization also contributes heavily to the
overall imaging experience. Beyond simply reducing shakiness, the
stabilization helps footage feel more immersive, polished, and emotionally
engaging. Smooth movement naturally gives videos a more cinematic quality,
which becomes especially valuable for storytellers, vloggers, documentary
creators, educators, filmmakers, and travel content creators who want
audiences to feel more connected to scenes and environments.
At this point, DJI’s maturity as a company in areas like imaging
algorithms, computational processing, stabilization engineering, and color
science also becomes very apparent. After years of refining cameras across
drones, action cameras, and creator-focused devices, DJI now has a very
mature understanding of how modern digital footage should look for both
casual creators and more professional users.
DJI also seems to understand the visual style modern creators prefer. The
footage looks polished enough for professional projects while still
feeling lively and optimized for online content platforms. Colors
generally appear vibrant without becoming overly saturated, while contrast
and sharpness maintain a clean and modern look that works very well for
social media, YouTube, travel content, lifestyle videos, tech reviews, and
cinematic reels.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4's 14 stops of Dynamic Range, which is higher than Pocket 3's 12 stops, helps preserve detail in both highlights and shadows even in more challenging lighting conditions. This becomes especially useful when filming outdoors during bright afternoons or transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments.
Low-light performance is another major strength of the camera, thanks in huge part to the 1-inch sensor. Night scenes retain impressive detail, while indoor environments maintain better clarity and exposure than many people would expect from a device this small. Restaurants, city lights, hotel interiors, conventions, evening walks, and nighttime travel sequences all benefit greatly from the larger sensor and improved image processing.
For travel creators and lifestyle vloggers especially, this helps preserve atmosphere and mood much more effectively. Scenes continue looking cinematic instead of becoming overly noisy or flat once lighting conditions become more difficult, allowing creators to communicate environments and emotions more naturally through video.
D-Log 10-Bit Support
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 also
supports both
Normal 10-bit and
D-Log 10-bit color
profiles, giving creators more flexibility depending on their workflow and
experience level.
The
Normal 10-bit profile
is especially useful for creators who want rich-looking footage straight
out of the camera with minimal editing required afterward. Travel
vloggers, lifestyle creators, social media personalities, livestreamers,
educators, and beginner creators will likely appreciate how polished and
upload-ready clips already appear while still retaining the smoother color
transitions and richer tonal information that 10-bit recording provides.
Meanwhile,
D-Log 10-bit is
designed more for advanced creators, professional videographers,
filmmakers, commercial shooters, and editors who want maximum flexibility
during color grading and post-processing. By preserving more highlight and
shadow detail with a flatter image profile, D-Log allows creators to push
footage further creatively during editing while maintaining better color
precision and dynamic range.
This becomes especially useful for cinematic projects, commercial work,
documentary storytelling, travel films, branded content, and creators who
want more control over the final visual mood and style of their footage.
Intuitive Video Recording Experience
The overall shooting experience feels fast, intuitive, and highly
creator-focused. DJI clearly designed the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 around
the realities of modern content production rather than traditional camera
workflows.
One of the biggest advantages of the overall experience is how seamless
and approachable the DJI ecosystem now feels. Since both the camera and
microphone system come directly from DJI, pairing and using devices like
the
DJI Mic 3 Transmitter
with the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 feels
straightforward and well-integrated instead of overly technical or
complicated.
I love you, mommy! DJI Mic 3's seamless integration with the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 lets you capture crystal clear audio anytime, anywhere.
That ecosystem advantage becomes especially valuable for beginner
creators, vloggers, educators, and even professionals who simply want to
spend less time troubleshooting settings and more time actually creating
content. Audio connections feel faster and more reliable, controls remain
consistent across devices, and the entire workflow generally feels more
polished and unified.
The interface itself is also very intuitive and easy to navigate. Menus
are clean, responsive, and organized in a way that feels familiar even to
users who may not have extensive camera experience.
Unlike some professional cameras that can initially feel intimidating
because of complex menu systems and overly technical terminology, the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 feels
approachable almost immediately. The touchscreen interface resembles the
simplicity and responsiveness that modern users already expect from
smartphones and mobile devices, which helps reduce the learning curve
significantly for casual creators and first-time videographers.
Vertical video support up to 3K 60fps remains extremely important today because creators
increasingly publish across multiple platforms simultaneously. Native
vertical recording helps streamline workflow significantly and reduces
editing friction later on.
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 also
feels approachable enough for beginners while still offering enough
flexibility for experienced creators who want more control over their
visuals. Casual users can rely on automatic settings comfortably, while
more advanced users can explore additional creative options depending on
their workflow and shooting style.
That balance between simplicity and creative flexibility is one of the
camera’s strongest qualities. It allows beginners to feel confident using
the device almost immediately while still giving more experienced
storytellers enough room to experiment creatively as their skills and
production demands grow over time.
While I rarely if at all use
Hyperlapse and
Timelapse modes, they
are available for videographers or vloggers who wish to include such clips
in their storytelling.
These modes help ordinary scenes feel visually dramatic and cinematic with
relatively little effort. Busy city streets, moving clouds, traffic
patterns, crowded conventions, airport terminals, and travel sequences
suddenly become more dynamic and emotionally engaging once transformed
through timelapse footage.
This reinforces one of the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4’s
biggest strengths as a storytelling tool. It helps creators turn ordinary
everyday moments into content that feels more visually expressive,
immersive, and memorable.
Audio Recording Quality
Audio quality often separates amateur-looking content from
professional-feeling storytelling. Fortunately, the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4
performs very well in this area, delivering clearer and more polished
sound capture that helps videos feel more immersive and engaging overall.
Voice recordings sound clear, present, and natural, while
Vocal Boost helps
dialogue or story-telling on-the-go remain understandable even in noisier
environments. This becomes extremely valuable for vloggers, educators,
presenters, interview creators, livestreamers, and travel storytellers who
regularly shoot outside controlled studio setups.
The built-in microphones are already capable enough for many casual and
semi-professional workflows. However, creators who want an even more
polished production experience will likely appreciate that the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Creator Combo
comes bundled with a
DJI Mic 3 Transmitter,
which significantly elevates the device’s audio capabilities for more
serious storytelling and content production.
The inclusion of the
DJI Mic 3 Transmitter
feels especially important because audio often determines whether viewers
stay engaged with a video or lose interest quickly. Crisp, focused voice
capture helps content feel more professional, more intimate, and easier to
follow, particularly for creators whose videos rely heavily on narration,
commentary, interviews, tutorials, or conversational storytelling.
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 also
supports several key features of the DJI Mic 3 system, including
Adaptive Gain Control,
which intelligently helps balance voice levels more consistently during
recording. This becomes extremely useful when moving through environments
where sound levels constantly change, such as conventions, cafés,
restaurants, airports, malls, public events, museums, or busy city
streets.
For vloggers and storytellers especially, the DJI Mic 3 can make a huge
difference in locations where speaking loudly may feel awkward,
disruptive, or simply impractical. Instead of needing to raise your voice
aggressively just to maintain usable audio, the microphone helps capture
speech more naturally and clearly while still preserving the atmosphere
and ambience of the environment around you.
This creates a more immersive viewing experience because audiences can
hear both the creator and the surrounding environment more comfortably.
Travel narratives feel more atmospheric, educational videos become easier
to follow, interviews sound cleaner, and personal vlogs feel more
conversational and authentic.
Strong audio quality ultimately helps audiences stay more connected to
stories and presentations. Clear dialogue makes educational content easier
to understand, interviews more engaging, cinematic sequences more
immersive, and travel experiences more emotionally impactful for viewers.
Better File Compression at 4K
One of the more practical improvements I discovered while using the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 has to do with how it handles 4K video compression. I don't recall hearing other tech journalists or content creators mentioning this before.
While comparing clips shot at the same 4K 30fps setting and with nearly identical subjects and conditions, I noticed that footage from the newer model consistently produced noticeably smaller file sizes without sacrificing visible image quality. A one-minute 4K 30fps clip from the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 came in at around 596.6MB, while the same type of clip from the Pocket 4 only consumed 429.4MB of storage.
That translates to roughly 28% smaller file sizes on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4, which is actually a huge advantage for creators who regularly shoot in 4K. Smaller files mean you can fit more footage on your microSD card before needing to offload content, and it also speeds up transfers to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. For travel vloggers, mobile journalists, and content creators who film multiple clips throughout the day, this improvement becomes surprisingly useful in real-world use.
Beyond storage savings, the more efficient compression also makes editing workflows feel lighter and more manageable, especially on portable devices that may struggle with massive 4K files. It helps reduce storage consumption on editing drives while still delivering footage that looks detailed, clean, and ready for social media or professional uploads. It’s one of those upgrades that may not immediately appear flashy on a spec sheet, but in day-to-day content creation, it genuinely improves the overall user experience.
Smart Features and Tracking
DJI’s tracking system continues to be one of the strongest aspects of the
Pocket experience.
Subject tracking on the
DJI Osmo Pocket 3 was
already very good to begin with, offering smooth and dependable tracking
performance for solo creators and mobile storytellers. With the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4, DJI
further refines the experience by making tracking feel more accurate, more
precise, and more responsive during real-world shooting situations.
Face tracking feels intelligent and dependable, helping solo creators
maintain professional framing even while moving naturally during shoots.
This becomes incredibly useful for tutorials, livestreams, tech reviews,
cooking videos, educational content, interviews, presentations, and
personal vlogs where creators often work without dedicated camera
operators.
The camera quietly handles much of the framing work in the background,
allowing creators to focus more on communication, storytelling, and
performance instead of constantly checking positioning. The improved
tracking precision also helps footage feel more polished and immersive
overall, especially during movement-heavy scenes.
The
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 also
succeeds at making content creation feel less intimidating overall. It
lowers technical barriers without sacrificing creative flexibility, which
makes it appealing both to aspiring creators and more experienced
professionals looking for a lightweight yet capable shooting tool.
That accessibility ties directly into why devices like this matter today.
More people are discovering their own creative voices through video, and
tools that simplify production without sacrificing quality can help
encourage even more storytelling across different industries, passions,
and communities.
Verdict
Simply put, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is the most refined and
creator-aware Pocket gimbal-camera that DJI has released so far.
What makes it impressive isn’t simply raw image quality or stabilization
performance alone. The entire experience feels thoughtfully designed around
the realities of modern storytelling and fast-paced content creation.
DJI clearly understands how creators work today. Multi-platform publishing,
vertical content, solo shooting, lightweight travel setups, educational
videos, livestreams, cinematic reels, mobile workflows, and quick turnaround
times are now deeply connected to the creative process.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 adapts naturally to all of these scenarios
while remaining remarkably portable and approachable -- all while delivering
industry-leading video and audio quality at this price point and size
category.
For aspiring creators, professional videographers, vloggers, travelers,
educators, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, tech reviewers, students, and
storytellers, it offers a compelling balance between convenience,
portability, ease of use, and creative flexibility.
People upgrading from the original DJI Osmo Pocket or the DJI Pocket 2,
especially those who skipped the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, will likely find the
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 to be a major and very worthwhile leap forward. The
improvements in imaging, workflow efficiency, creator tools, audio features,
low-light capability, and overall shooting experience genuinely make the
device feel like a far more mature storytelling platform.
Most importantly, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 encourages creativity in a
very natural way.
It makes you want to bring it everywhere, experiment with new shots,
document moments more often, and tell stories more visually. It removes much
of the friction between inspiration and execution, which ultimately makes
content creation feel more enjoyable, more spontaneous, and more expressive.
That may actually be the DJI Osmo Pocket 4’s greatest strength of
all.
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 ultimately feels like a camera designed not just
for capturing footage, but for helping modern creators communicate ideas,
emotions, experiences, and stories more effectively in today’s increasingly
visual world.
