Starmobile Vida Price Php 2,490, Specs, Features : Cheapest Android KitKat Smartphone

Feels like only yesterday when I called Php 3,890 Starmobile Sky 'the most affordable smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat operating system in the Philippines'. Now, the local electronics company has something even more affordable.

Starmobile Vida

Donning an SRP of just Php 2,490, Starmobile Vida has just become the cheapest Android KitKat handset in the country -- if not anywhere in this region. Having such low price tag, this device - I believe - should be quite attractive to student and yuppies who may be on a tight budget but are thinking about finally upgrading from their feature phones to a full-fledged Android smartphone running an updated version of the OS.

Starmobile Vida

What's cool about Starmobile Vida is that, although it's very affordable, it already has decent features and innards to give you a rather smooth mobile experience. It's by no means a powerhouse but considering its price and looking at its specs sheet, I think it gives you more than what you pay for.

The  handset features a 3.5-inch 320 x 680 pixels TFT capacitive touchscreen display,  a 5 MegaPixel camera, VGA front cam, 480p video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability (via 2 regular Mini SIM card slots), 3G HSPA+ support, and a 1,300 mAh Li-Ion battery pack.

Under the hood, Vida runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with its 1 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex A7 and Mali 400 GPU based MediaTek MT6572 chipset, has 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of ROM that can be beefed up using the phone's microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB.

Apart from the above-mentioned technical specifications, Starmobile also added some neat software enhancements to the Vida, including Talk to Unlock, Smile Shot Option on the Camera App, and 'Transfer Apps to SD Card' support. Likewise, the company has also opted to give buyers special accessories included in the package, namely, a phone case, screen protector, headset with microphone for making calls, and a more compact travel charger.

For those who are interested, you may now purchase Starmobile Vida at all authorized retail partners and Starmobile Concept Stores and Kiosks nationwide. Again, it only costs Php 2,490 -- and it's available in three colors; White, Black, and Pink.
