Gionee Pioneer P2S Price, Specs, Features : Cheapest Android Smartphone by Gionee To Date

Got this really cool question from TP Friend Oreo Pontejos on Twitter last night. Oreo is a big Gionee fan.

Admittedly, most releases of the international brand Gionee that are available in the Philippines are in the upper midrange to high-end categories. This is so because - I believe - Gionee is keen on targeting that portion of the populace. Nonetheless, just recently, the company launched a handful of affordable handsets, which give budget-conscious consumers a chance to experience what Gionee has to offer in the smartphone game.

Gionee P2s

The most pocket-friendly of which is the Gionee Pioneer P2S. Currently priced at only Php 3,999, this device should be a perfect companion for student and yuppies who may be on a tight budget but are interested in checking out the quality and unique selling points of Gionee handsets.

And what's cool is that for that amount, this model already comes with some neat features and technical specifications. Gionee Pioneer P2S is equipped with a 4-inch WVGA (that's 480 x 800 pixels resolution) display, a 5 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash, VGA front cam, 480p 30fps video recorder, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, 3G HSPA+ support, and a removable 1,600 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. Under the hood, the device runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system with its Quad Core 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex A7 and Mali 400 GPU based MediaTek MT6582M chipset, handles multitasking with 1GB of RAM, and has 8 GB of expandable storage.

Frankly, there are other smartphones out in the market with the same price but slightly better features and innards. But if you've long been attracted to Gionee as a brand and you want to experience the 'basics' of the company's sleek Amigo user interface without having to break the bank, then I'd totally suggest that you get this release. I'm a Gionee smartphone owner myself and I have nothing but good words to say about the quality of their releases.
