Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus Price is Php 9,999, Has Four Cameras, 18:9 TrueView Display

On Thursday - October 12, 2017, Filipino tech giant Cherry Mobile formally introduced their hero smartphones for the latter part of 2017 coming into early 2018, which is aptly called the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Series.

The Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus is the most expensive of the three models that fall into this new Flare family and as such, it is also the most powerful, beautiful, and feature-packed.

Flaunting a gorgeous and durable unibody aluminum shell with discreet antenna bands on either poles, the Flare S6 Plus also introduces a number of firsts in Cherry Mobile's most popular Android smartphone line.

Let's go through these features one by one.

This model is the first to have a tall display with 18:9 aspect ratio, which CM calls "TrueView Display". In our conversation last night, Mr. Lonson Alejandrino - the new Assistant Vice President for Product of Cherry Mobile - told me that they intend to come up with more smartphones having this sort of screen.

CM Flare S6 Plus' TrueView IPS screen, which is protected by scratch-resistant glass, measures 5.7 inches across and has a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels or HD+.

This screen type works perfectly with the rounded real-metal enclosure of the phone to make it look and feel really high-end and elegant. For me, these design aspects and materials are what made this handset the most handsome that Cherry Mobile has released so far.

Another feature that debuts on this release is the Quad Camera set-up, which is made up a Dual Camera module - consisting of a main 16 MegaPixel optic plus a depth-sensing 5 MP lens - both in front and at the back of the device.

The Dual Camera set-up at the back is accompanied by four LED flash bulbs while the one in front has a Soft LED flash or torchlight.

Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus' two Dual Camera modules allow the user to apply shallow depth of field or bokeh effect on photos and selfies with varying degrees. With this, you can get images where the subject is clear but the background is beautifully blurred to make the shot more focused and interesting.

And finally, CM Flare S6 Plus is the first high-end model from the company to have the new Cherry OS user interface for Android.

Developed in a span of more than a year, Cherry OS incorporates a number of useful and intuitive applications that can enhance the user experience. One of which is the revamped Camera Application that now includes a built-in Beauty Mode, Portrait Mode, and FaceCute, letting you add fun stickers to your photos even before you snap a shot.

There's also another pre-installed software that allows you to clone social media apps so you can be on two accounts simultaneously -- perfect for users who keep multiple accounts for both work and play.

Inside its sleek shell, Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus runs its heavily-skinned Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with a 64-Bit Octa Core 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex A53 and Mali T860-MP2 based MediaTek MT6750T processor, has 4GB of RAM, and comes with 64GB of onboard storage that you can easily beef up using the hybrid nanoSIM slot that supports memory card expansion.

Powered by a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery pack that - according to Sir Lonson - can deliver a whole day of uptime with regular use, Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus has Dual SIM Dual Standby capability and supports 4G LTE mobile connectivity.

Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Plus will be available at all CM Concept Stores, kiosks, and partner retailers across the country come November 2017. The official retail pack - which includes a pair of free high-quality VE Monk Philippine Edition Earphones - will have an official suggested retail price of Php 9,999, making it the most expensive handset offering by the company this year.

Is this the right smartphone for you? This model is slated to be the most wallet-friendly Android smartphone to have an 18:9 display that occupies almost the entire face of the device as well as a Four-Camera set-up. If you want to experience those features on a well-built handset and Php 10,000 is the maximum that you can spend on a smartphone this year, CM Flare S6 Plus should be a great choice for you.
