GoPro HERO6 Black Price is $499 : Six Reasons To Upgrade from HERO5 Black

On Friday - September 28, 2017, American technology company GoPro officially announced their 2017 top-of-the-line action camera, the HERO6 Black.

Although it looks largely identical to its predecessor from 2016, this fresh release actually comes with notable enhancements under the hood that it a compelling upgrade.

If you own a GoPro HERO5 Black, here are six good reasons why you should upgrade to the `all-new GoPro HERO6 Black:

1. New Imaging Processor

Running on the custom GP1 processor that supposedly makes it an "intelligent camera", the HERO6 is twice as powerful than the older model when it comes to shooting photos and recording videos.

2. Less Power Consumption

This year's GoPro captures HEVC codec video, which - in layman's terms - translates to less overheating, better power management, and perhaps even longer battery life even when recording fantastic looking slow-mo clips.

3. Steady Videos

Although it still lacks mechanical or optical image stabilization, HERO6 comes with enhanced electronic stabilization algorithm that promises to deliver less shaky clips even if you recorded them while you're walking or running.

4. Two Finger Zooming

The new model finally supports two-finger zooming on its touchscreen - as you would using your iPhone or Android smartphone. This makes it quicker and easier for you to inspect details on each photo that you will take using the device.

5. Better Dynamic Range

Thanks to its powerful processor and enhanced imaging algorithm, GoPro Hero 6 Black can snap stills and record clips with high dynamic range. Simply put, you will better details and more brilliant colors even in shots with varying amounts of ambient light. The camera doesn't crush blacks and whites and instead delivers clear images with natural tones in various lighting conditions.

6. Stunning Slow Motion Videos

The 2017 GoPro HERO6 Black can record incredible 4K videos at 60 frames per second as well as Full HD 1080p clips at a whopping 240fps! In comparison, the HERO5 can only do 4K 30fps and 1080p 120fps. With this capability of the new model, you can add more drama and excitement to your movies!

Donning an official suggested retail price of $499 USD, GoPro HERO6 Black is now available in the United States, Europe, as well as in other key markets of the company. No word yet on its availability in the Philippines although our local grey market sellers have already started offering the camera online for a bit more than the pero-converted official price tag.
