BlackBerry Motion Specs and Photos, Out! Has Water-Resistant Build and Large Battery!

BlackBerry is still alive!

Although the Canadian tech company is not quite the titan that it used to be, the legendary BlackBerry brand is still in motion and continues to come up with well-crafted devices for their very, very loyal fans around the world.

In fact, BB has just uploaded a video on Youtube showcasing their latest Android smartphone sporting a downright attractive design and incorporating unique BlackBerry security features.

The IP67 Water and Dust Resistant BlackBerry Motion sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display underneath a glass touchscreen with nano-Diamond anti-scratch coating that's said to be 25% stronger than what Gorilla Glass offers! Talk about being protected against the elements.

The handset also has a real metal mid-frame that makes it look and feel durable, sophisticated, and elegant all at the same time.

BB Motion's back plate has a Kevlar Fiber look with rubberized finish that obviously makes it appear more interesting compared to many Android smartphones by other brands that seem to borrow the same design language from each other.

Hardcore BlackBerry fans will surely enjoy looking at the phone's home button which features the mythical BlackBerry Logo. This button is flanked by the illuminated Back and Multitasking buttons and incorporates a Fingerprint Scanner for extra security.

At the back, BlackBerry Motion sports a 12 MegaPixel autofocus camera - with Dual Tone LED flash and f/2.0 aperture - that can also record Full HD videos at 30 frames per second. This shooter is complemented by an 8 MegaPixel front-cam for snapping selfies.

Inside its shell, the device runs its Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with a 2.0 GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex-A53 and Adreno 506 based Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 processor, has 4GB of RAM, and comes with 32GB of expandable storage.

The phone's loud speaker, USB Type C port, and 3.5mm combo jack are all located at the rear panel.

For mobile warriors who are always on the road or out and about, you'll love the fact that this model is powered a large 4,000 mAh battery pack, which should ensure more than a whole day of uptime with regular use.

You won't have to always keep this one plugged to an electrical outlet or powerbank just to be sure it will have enough juice on your drive home at the end of the day.

BlackBerry Motion ships with pre-installed applications from BB including BBM for messaging and DTEK by BlackBerry, which helps you monitor and control the level of security on your device.

To be specific, DTEK monitors and reports when an app installed in your handset uses certain functions and services - like the camera or microphone - without your knowledge!

BlackBerry also added a cool functionality to the power button; Short pressing on it gives you quick access to pre-assigned apps, so you won't have to make too many swipes on the screen just to launch them.

I guess this is just one of the key features that BlackBerry Motion has to let you do more effortlessly. Interesting, right? I sure want to see what other things this model has to offer.

Now as for the handset's price and availability, according to the company, it should be out in key markets in Europe and the Middle East starting on October 22, 2017 with official suggested retail price of $460 USD or 499 Euros. That's around Php 23,530 with current conversion.

I know that there are many Filipino BlackBerry fans - including myself - who are eagerly waiting for new devices that the brand will bring to our country. Right now, however, BB has made no mention of the Philippines as one of the territories that will officially get this particular model. Do you think they should bring BlackBerry Motion here?
