Samsung Star, if I'm not mistaken, is the company's best-selling phone of 2008 -- shipping more than 30 Million units worldwide. So I guess it only makes sense for Samsung to build on the handset's success and release a next iteration to the device.
Samsung Star 2 S5620 offers an upgrade to some of the original's features. For one, it comes with a capacitive touchscreen as opposed to the resistive screen of the first Star. It also features an updated TouchWiz 3.0 user interface similar to that found on the Korean company's Bada and Galaxy phones and supports Wifi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.
Samsung Star 2 flaunts a 3-inch WQVGA (240x400) screen and a 3 MegaPixel fixed-focus camera without flash at the back.
If you're wondering if it supports 3G connectivity, nope - it doesn't.
Last week, GSMArena was able to get hold of a Samsung Star 2 unit and shared photos of the phone. Here's how it looks in the flesh --

Samsung Star 2 will see official release in Germany and other European countries next month, February, with a retail price of around 199 Euros or roughly Php 12,000. No word yet on release details in Philippines but I reckon it's highly unlikely for the phone not to arrive here. Please stay tuned for updates.
