Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z Price, Specs, Release Date Officially Announced!

Last night, via an exclusive media event at One Esplanade in Pasay City, local electronics company Cherry Mobile unveiled its new line-up of Android smartphones set to be released this coming September.

The Cosmos series - comprised of Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z, S, X, and X2 - features quad core processors by Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek, 1GB of RAM, 18 MegaPixel main cameras, 5 to 8 MegaPixel front facing cams - ideal for selfies, and display sizes ranging from 4.7 to 5 inches. We'll be introducing all of these handsets to you in the coming days so kindly stay tuned.

Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z - shown in the photo below being flaunted by CM celebrity endorser, Anne Curtis - appears to be the flagship model in the bunch; Although, really, its siblings seem to have specifications that are just as good.

While it lacks the crisp and brilliant SuperAMOLED display of Cherry Mobile X and X2, Cosmos Z nonetheless has a wider screen size and although it has a smaller battery pack compared to the single SIM Cherry Mobile Cosmos S, Z has Dual SIM Dual Standby capability.

Some of the handset's key technical specifications include 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor (most probably MediaTek MT6589 chipset) running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 1 GB of RAM, 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD with 441 ppi pixel density, 18 MegaPixel autofocus camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 8 MegaPixel front-facing cam, 1080p video recorder, FM Radio, and a removable 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. As for connectivity, the smartphone supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.

According to CM, Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z should become available at all of their Kiosks and authorized retail outlets nationwide before the start of Q4 2013 or specifically, in September 2013. How much will it cost, you ask? The official suggested retail price is Php 11,999, which puts it in direct competition with the ultra-popular and best-selling O+ 8.15 and the super slick Starmobile Knight.
