Joining the best-selling Starmobile Knight in the top echelon of Happy Man Philippines' 2013 Android smartphone line-up, Starmobile Muse should make all Pinoy gadget fans who love taking selfies very happy.

Apart from its powerful 1.5 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU and 357 MHz PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU based MediaTek MT6589T SoC running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and the ultra-crisp 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display with high 441 ppi pixel density, Starmobile Muse's main selling point would have to be its landmark 8 MegaPixel front-facing autofocus camera with backside illuminated sensor and LED flash.

Yes, you read that correctly, the Starmobile Muse is the first ever handset by a local company to sport a front cam with LED flash -- ensuring vibrant and bright selfies even in very low lighting conditions. Also, the front shooter has a wide-angle lens, which lets you capture a bigger view when using it -- so your whole barkada can actually join in your self portraits.

Starmobile Muse has all the best features that the company could have given any of its handsets this year. The device sports a whopping 18 MegaPixel camera with BSI sensor and LED flash at the back, HD video recorder, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of non-expandable internal memory, Dual SIM (MicroSIM plus Regular Mini SIM) Dual Standby capability, and non-removable 2,300 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. As for connectivity, the phone supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.

Want to see Starmobile Muse's stellar front-facing camera in action? Well, here's my exclusive interview video with Mr. Ryan Uy, Social Media Coordinator of Happy Man Philippines, during the company's Gold Rush Event at the Manila Peninsula where he gave me a full demo and hands-on video of this much-awaited new high-end Android smartphone. Check it out, TP Friends!

Donning an official suggested retail price is Php 12,990, Starmobile Muse is now available at all Starmobile Stores and Kiosks nationwide. Considering that the phone has a powerhouse camera in front, a MT6589T chip that's known to perform well, and a super clear display, I think the Muse's SRP is just right. However, if it had a bigger battery, expandable storage, and 2GB of RAM, the handset would have been far more sulit and closer to ideal. Overall, though, I'm still giving it my nod of approval.
