Samsung Galaxy J7 Core Specs, Price, Features : Sells for Php 9,990 in the Philippines

Samsung Mobile has just quietly launched a new lower midrange Android smartphone in a number of countries in South and Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.

The new Samsung Galaxy J7 Core is crafted to allow budget-conscious consumers to experience some of the cool features of more expensive Galaxy models without having to break the bank.

The main selling points of this fresh release include its 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels HD SuperAMOLED display - a lower resolution version of the screen type that you'll find on the flagship level Galaxy S-Series, a 13 MegaPixel autofocus rear camera with wide f/1.9 aperture for enhanced low light performance, 5 MegaPixel front cam with Soft LED flash for Selfies, and a 1.6 GHz Octa Core Exynos 7870 processor, which is just the same as what powers the popular Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro.

Other notable features and technical specifications include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, dedicated microSD card memory expansion slot, Dual SIM capability, Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, and 4G LTE mobile connectivity support.

As for design and build, the Galaxy J7 Core flaunts a rounded rectangle footprint and has a removable back plate made of plastic. The chrome-plated accent that runs down the sides along with the "flat" glass touchscreen actually make the handset look a lot like the Samsung Galaxy J7 from 2015 and 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Core is now available at all Samsung Concept Stores and authorized retail channels for only Php 9,990 or roughly $200 USD. The handset is out in two elegant colors: Gold and Black.

Is this the right smartphone for you? Frankly, at this price point, you can already purchase a handset from a Chinese or Pinoy handset brand with far better technical specifications. There's the Cherry Mobile Desire R8, CloudFone Next, Asus ZenFone 4 Max, and the Moto E4 Plus, among others. But hey, if you're a big Samsung fan who's extremely loyal, I won't stop you from checking this one out.
