Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 Price, Specs : Quad Core Smartphone with 3,000 mAh Battery, Charges Other Gadgets Like a Powerbank

Cherry Mobile may have taken a while to come up with a true follow-up to its 2012 best-selling phablet, Cherry Mobile Titan, but at least they managed to choose a decent successor to the popular line.

Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0, Cherry Mobile Quad Core Smartphone

Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 is based on iOcean X7 Premium but with few variations in technical specifications. While the two phones share the same Xperia-like design language, CM Titan 2.0 has less RAM and internal storage but has a higher capacity removable battery. Whereas X7 comes with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, and 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack, CM's new phablet features 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB, and a whopping 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack.

Addendum: According to CM fans, iOcean X7 Premium has a Full HD display and MT6589T chipset. In contrast, the CM version only has an HD display and a Qualcomm MSM8225Q SoC. This makes Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 more like Innos D10, which almost exactly the same - albeit thicker - design identity and largely similar innards but has a far bigger 6,000 mAh battery pack.

Having such a large battery doesn't just give Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 a longer uptime but also also gives it one of its distinguishing or unique capabilities and that is it can charge other devices! Supporting USB On-The-Go, CM Titan 2.0 works as a powerbank, which means that it to charge other smartphones via its microUSB port. All you have to go is to connect the phablet to your other gadget, which already has low battery, using a USB-OTG cable and Titan 2.0 will automatically charge it.

That feature alone makes Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 quite a special release but actually its other technical specifications also add to its overall appeal. The phone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system without any custom skin with its Quad Core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A5 and Adreno 203 GPU based MSM8225Q chipset by Qualcomm (Note that this is less powerful than MediaTek MT6589 SoC, which was earlier thought to be the processor of this phone). CM Titan 2.0 also flaunts a crisp 5-inch HD IPS OGS LCD, a 12 MegaPixel autofocus main camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, HD video recorder, and a 5 MegaPixel front cam also with backside illuminated sensor for clear and bright photos even in low light conditions. As for connectivity, the phone supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.

Cherry Mobile Titan 2.0 is one of the more than 40 new Android smartphones from CM hitting store shelves this Yuletide season. Its official SRP is Php 8,999 (with free 4GB microSD card) and for that amount, I think it's already very sulit.
