Realme C3 Philippines Price is PHP 5,990 : Unboxing, Full Specs, Initial Impressions

The fastest-growing smartphone brand in the world, Realme, has just officially launched a new entry-level Android smartphone here in the Philippines.

Priced at only PHP 5,990, the all-new Realme C3 comes with high-tier features that we used to only see on midrange handsets.

On top of making this release very easy on the pocket, Realme Philippines also has a special offer for the first 1,000 buyers of Realme C3 on LazadaPH on March 5, 2020. They will get a free pair of Realme Buds 2 worth PHP 690.

Additionally, Shopee is giving a 10% price cut on the Realme C3 for its first 1,000 shoppers who will the voucher code SHPrealmeC3. This Shopee discount promo lasts until March 15, 2020.

For those who are thinking about getting this device, allow me to share with you my unboxing photos of the Realme C3.

As you can see, the handset comes in this orange box that's almost similar to that of Realme 5i, which is the slightly pricier model with price tag of PHP 6,990. On the cover, we have the model name and at the bottom, we see the four main selling points of this smartphone.

The four high-tier features of Realme C3 are the following:

1. AI Triple Camera Module
2. 6.5-inch FullScreen Display
3. 5,000 mAh Massive Battery
4. 12nm Octa-Core MediaTek Helio G70 Processor

Lifting the lid, we are greeted by a paper sleeve containing the user manual. It says, "Hey, welcome to realme Family."

Unfolding it, we see the metal pin for ejecting the SIM card tray and another message, "Let's embrace a new journey."

The user manual is just a small booklet which gives you concise and easy to understand details about the Realme C3. For those who will buy this model, I suggest you read this to get a good overview about the phone and what it offers.

There's also a product safety information booklet, which comes standard in every Realme smartphone package.

Other items inside the box include the microUSB 2.0 to USB charging and data transfer cable as well as the travel charger supporting up to 2A output.

As you can see, my review unit didn't come with a pair of wired earphones. I'm not sure if the official retail package will have one but honestly, I don't think that's the case since this is an entry-level model.

The unit is wrapped in this plastic case which helps protect it - to some extent - during shipment.

Let's take a closer look at Realme C3.

Like the Realme 5i, this model features what the company calls "Sunrise" Design identity, which is made possible by precision-cut micro-lines that create this unique visual treat after a 600-minute polish.

Design-wise, the main difference between Realme 5i and Realme C3 is that the latter has three cameras at the back instead of four and that its Sunrise rays emanate from the camera module instead of from the Realme name at the bottom.

As mentioned above, one of the highlights of the Realme C3 is its large 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display panel that's one of the biggest screens on any smartphone in its price bracket.

Offering an enjoyable visual experience when playing games and watching videos, this screen comes with a high 89.8 screen-to-body ratio and features a mini drop notch that's 30.9 percent smaller than a standard dewdrop.

At the bottom of the handset, we find the loud speaker, the microUSB 2.0 charging port, the microphone, and the 3.5mm audio jack.

On the left panel, we see the volume up and down buttons and the SIM card tray while on the right side, we have the power button that's slightly recessed like the two physical keys on the other side.

Another highlight of Realme C3 is its Triple Rear Camera module that gives the user good flexibility when doing point and shoot photography.

This three-camera set-up is made up of these snappers:

12 MegaPixels, f/1.8, 28mm, 1/2.8", 1.25µm, Phase Detection AutoFocus

This is the best of the bunch in terms of resolution, sensor size, and wideness of aperture. This is what you'll use most often in your everyday photography.

To enhance the performance of this camera, you can turn on Chroma Boost feature that restores the brightness and color saturation of the subject to give it a better dynamic range.

2 MegaPixels, Macro

Capture images of insects and other small objects or fine details on larger subjects using this camera.

2 MegaPixels, f/2.4, Depth Sensor

This camera enables Portrait Mode that lets you add background blur or Bokeh Effect to your subjects.

If you're wondering, compared to Realme 5i, Realme C3 lacks an Ultra-Wide Angle camera at the back, which is useful for capturing scale.

For those who love taking selfies, Realme C3 has a 5 MegaPixel f/2.4 front-facing HDR camera that's powered by Realme's own beautification software. If you're a vlogger, a TikToker, or a budding Youtube content creator, you can also use this camera to record FullHD videos at 30 frames per second, just like the primary rear camera.

Inside its shell, Realme C3 runs its Realme UI customized Android 10 operating system with a 12nm Octa Core MediaTek Helio G70 processor that allows the device to deliver smooth overall performance - even when running resource-intensive games and apps - all while being energy-efficient.

Realme C3 is actually the first Android smartphone to be powered by this new chipset from MediaTek.

MediaTek Helio G70 also delivers faster response time and more accurate screen control with reliable monitor fit for multimedia applications. Also, this processor improves visual experience by allowing the phone to show true colors and better contrast on its IPS display.

This new chipset is complemented by 32GB internal storage and 3GB LPDDR4X RAM that delivers 20% improved graphics and 100% better overall performance compared with LPDDR3.

For me, one of the most useful features of Realme C3 would have to be its very large 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery. This huge pack lets the user enjoy up to 20 hours of online movies, up to 43 hours of call time, 19 hours of music playback, and a whopping 10.6 hours of mobile gaming. On top of that, it also supports reverse charging, which means that Realme C3 can work as a powerbank that can charge other devices.

According to Ms. Austine Huang - Realme Philippines' Vice President for Marketing, "We are excited to introduce the Realme C3 to the Filipinos."

She added, "We hope to empower and encourage more young Filipinos to dare to take the first step toward their goals with realme C3’s powerful features offered at a very accessible value. Now with the Realme C3, more young Filipinos can grit and grind."
