What's in the Box?

I don't think splashes of water would get into this pouch easily. This is perfect for content creators and vloggers who have an active lifestyle or who travel a lot to outdoor destinations.

This is the All-in-One Charging Case of DJI Mic 2. Later, I will tell you what it can do, exactly.

This is the DJI Mic 2 Receiver.

It features a glass touchscreen in front as well as a knob for adjusting the mic reception volume.

DJI Mic 2's display shows the volume level from each of the connected receivers and also shows a red box to signal if the receiver is also recording audio internally.

At the back or bottom part of the DJI Mic 2 Receiver, you will find a row of copper plates that enable charging via the case, a USB Type C charging port, and hot-swappable module in the middle for connecting adapters. The USB Type C port can used for charging the Receiver without the case and for updating its firmware.

DJI Mic 2 package comes with a USB Type C adapter for connecting the receiver Android smartphones as well as Lightning port adapter for connecting to an Apple iPhone.

On the left side of the receiver, you will find the 3.5mm TRS input port and a headphone jack for monitoring audio or microphone volume.

The package also comes with this 3.5mm TRS male to 3.5mm TRS male cable for connecting the receiver to DSLR and mirrorless cameras that come with such port.

DJI Mic 2 has a cold shoe for easy mounting on a camera that has a complementary mount.

DJI Mic 2 Receiver's power button is located on its right side.

DJI Mic 2 comes with two Transmitters, which is perfect for interviews or duo hosting.

DJI Mic 2 Transmitter prominently shows the DJI in white on its transparent front plate, showing its internal parts.

On the right side of the Transmitter, you will find a button for connecting it to a Bluetooth enabled camera or smartphone. Below that, there's also the power button. Oh, and there's also a Green LED light bulb that flashes when the transmitter is on.

On the left side, you will find the Transmitter's USB Type C port for connecting it to a PC for transferring audio files recorded internally, for charging it without the case, and for upgrading the firmware. Below that, there's the Record Button for recording audio internally. You can turn this on both while the Receiver is connected wirelessly to the Transmitter and while it's not. Above these two, there's a Red LED Bulb that lights up when the Transmitter is recording audio internally.

On top, you will find the Transmitter's microphone head as well as a 3.5mm jack for connecting a wired lavalier microphone if you wish so.

DJI Mic 2 has a built-in clip for easily attaching it to your lapel or collar when recording. You may also use the double-sided, DJI-branded magnet for attaching it to your clothing.

Both DJI Mic 2 Transmitters come with a Windscreen that attaches to the 3.5mm port for a secure connection.

There's a USB Type C cable included in the package for charging the All-in-One case.

I must admit that the charging case feels quite hefty even when all accessories are taken out of it. For the next iteration of this model, I hope that DJI could find a way to make the case smaller and lighter while retaining its battery capacity and charging speed.

As I've said earlier, each DJI Mic 2 Transmitter can record audio independently in its internal storage. This is particularly useful when you want to be sure that you'll have an extra copy of the sound recording.

The DJI Mic 2 Receiver's module for connecting these adapters is similar to what's on my DJI Pocket 2, proving that the company has a unified design language across its product categories.

Most DSLRs and mirrorless cameras have a 3.5mm mic jack for recording audio via an external  microphone and DJI Mic 2 already ships with this cable so you won't have to buy one separately.

Simply connect it to the orange port on the Receiver than plug the other TRS male to your camera's microphone port.
