No Samsung Galaxy Note 6? Why is Samsung Skipping The Model Name?

"Sir Mark, I saw your post about Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Why is Samsung skipping Note 6?"

"I heard that Samsung won't be releasing a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 model. Can you tell me why, Mark?"

"Does Samsung have an issue with the number '6'? Why won't they release a Galaxy Note 6?"

These are only some of the questions that I got from my readers yesterday when I posted an article about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

It's true.

Samsung is pulling off a Microsoft by making a jump in their product nomenclature.

There won't be a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 this year. That model will be non-existent.

Why?

It's not because of superstition or because someone in the management doesn't like the number 6.

We have the official reason why the Korean Giant is hopping straight to Samsung Galaxy Note 7:

Quoting the company, "First and foremost though, you might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone." (source)

So it's more strategic than anything; Which makes me wonder why Samsung is doing this just now.
