HMD Global, The Home of Nokia Phones, Will Make HMD-Branded Smartphones Soon

HMD Global, the company responsible for launching Nokia-branded smartphones over the past six years, has revealed its ambitious plans for expanding its product range.

Mr. Jean-Francois Baril, the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of HMD Global, recently made this announcement on his LinkedIn page.

According to Mr. Baril, HMD Global intends to diversify its offerings by introducing smartphones under its own HMD brand, in addition to continuing its association with the Nokia brand. Furthermore, Baril hinted at exciting collaborations with new partners.

"It has been a great journey as ‘HMD – the home of Nokia phones’ – an exclusive position we have held for the past six years. Now, we’re the fastest growing 5G smartphone manufacturer year on year, a leader in sustainability with our repairable devices, and the top choice for taking a digital detox. Now we are ready for the next step on our journey - to enter the market independently as a force to create a new world for telecommunications focused on consumer needs," he shared.

HMD Global has enjoyed notable success in the 5G smartphone market, consistently demonstrating impressive year-on-year growth. The company has also taken a leadership role in promoting sustainability, exemplified by its repairable Nokia devices introduced within the last year.
