Cherry Mobile MAIA Smart Tab Dual Boot Windows and Android Tablet Specs, Release Date, Pricing Details

MAIA, Cherry Mobile's new Intel-powered tablet, will be announced by the company today via an exclusive media event to be held in Makati City. I'll be there and you can expect me to post photos from the launch on TechPinas' social media accounts in real-time.

Cherry Mobile Maia Tab

As yet, we know very little about this new product. The company has been successful in keeping details under wraps.

So far, the only thing related to 'MAIA' that they've shown the public is this promotional poster featuring Janella Salvador - CM's latest celebrity endorser - holding the device.

Looking at MAIA's screen in this image, it's clear that it will be a dual boot tablet running both Windows and Android operating systems. The slate's size relative to the hand of Janella gives the impression that the product more or less has the same footprint and display size as that of the iPad Mini, which has a 7.9-inch screen. Also, if you read the content of the poster, you will see in the lower part that CM has two versions of the tablet: The MAIA Tab and the MAIA Smart Tab. Interesting, eh?

OK, now let me share with you a few things I learned about Cherry Mobila MAIA Smart Tab from one of our insiders. According to our trusted source, the slate will be powered by a Quad Core processor and will have a 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM combo. Consumers can also use the slate to take photos as it has a 5 MegaPixel main camera at the back and a 2MP cam in front. (Note that these details are still unofficial.)

"But the best thing about this dual boot tablet is its price," our insider told me. "Can you guess how much it costs?"

I answered, "Php 8,000?"

"Lower," he said.

"Php 5,000 to Php 6,000?"

He simply smiled.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on the latest updates about MAIA as the company officially discloses them during the event. Should be exciting! Stay tuned, TP Friends!
