Blockchain Seminars and Workshops in the Philippines by Blockchain Collective Make Filipinos Future Ready

Are you a student, a yuppie, or a seasoned professional who's currently looking for Blockchain Seminars or Workshops in the Philippines that you can sign up for to beef up your knowledge or to level up in your career?

I know the challenge that you're facing. Currently, Blockchain classes are very rare in our country and so few are certified by recognized institutions.

Well, worry no more. Listen because I bring great news.

Last Monday - May 6, 2019, I graced Blockchain Collective's invitation for the formal launch of their classes in Manila held at Sabor Restaurant in Novotel.

Blockchain Collective is Australia’s first and only Government Accredited Advanced Diploma of Applied Blockchain. It's also a leading blockchain education body empowering enterprise, educators and students for a future in blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.

Servicing the growing demand for qualified and skilled people in the application of blockchain worldwide, its education is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and experience to apply blockchain frameworks into business.

According to Mr. Austin Lewinsmith, Co-Founder of Blockchain Collective, "There are lots of people who understood coding on the blockchain but when it came to actual strategic thinking on how to apply blockchain to business, that is when there’s a massive gap in the market. Currently, there are lots of universities that were doing blockchain short courses but without any certifications."

He added, "The new course has been developed to ensure that this emerging industry has enterprise ready graduates with the knowledge and experience to apply blockchain frameworks in existing and new businesses."

Dr. Jackqui Moreno, Vice Dean for Accountancy and Business of the College of Arts and Sciences of San Beda University noted the accountancy profession has evolved so much in the past few years. In fact, since the Board of Accountancy included Blockchain in the course outline of the CPA Licensure Examinations, it has become more important for students to be well-equipped with knowledge about the topic and to be familiar with its application in the real world.

“We like to make sure that the students understand in the accountant’s perspective what Blockchain is all about because if you are not transparent about the transaction then many people will be losing trust in the transaction processing. This will help our students become future professionals who really understand how technology affects corporate governance, and how it will also be affecting the business community. We are passionate about offering emerging technology education to our students and are pleased to be the first delivery partner of Blockchain Collective in the Philippines,” shared Dr. Moreno.

Last May 2-3, 2019, the first-ever Blockchain Accounting Workshop by the Blockchain Collective was held at the San Beda University in Manila. The seminar, which combined a theory as well as  practical and a demonstrative approach, was designed to provide 200 Accounting and Finance students with a sound foundation of Blockchain knowledge as part of their preparation for their upcoming CPA exam.

After all, Blockchain is recognized in today's global financial sector for its ability to drive productivity and to address duplication, record keeping and international payment inefficiencies all while providing better automation, trace-ability and transparency. As such, all active and future CPAs are expected to have sound knowledge about this system.

The two-day intensive workshop provided the students with practical and relevant skills, knowledge as well as examples of Blockchain’s uses, benefits, and limitations as it relates to accounting and the financial sector. It also guided the participants through the process of understanding Blockchain’s history, evolution, terminologies, current place in the market plus its potential to disrupt many industry sectors. And on top of that, all attendees were even given the opportunity to navigate an actual blockchain explorer.

All attendees of Blockchain Collective's first workshop at San Beda were given lifetime access to Learning Management System and resources (via online portal), seminar kits, online examination, and globally recognized Certificate of Attendance from the education body.

To conclude, Mr. Joseph Chua, President of Blockchain Collective Philippines, shared that the company aims to solidify the Philippines as the leading hub for talented and employable graduates in Blockchain. He also told me that he's currently to various academic institutions across the country to partner with them in bringing Blockchain Collective seminars and workshops in key areas nationwide.
