In 1975, at the age of 20, Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to pursue a career in software development. He went on to becoming CEO of Microsoft Corporation, inarguably the largest software company in the world today, and became the world's richest man for 13 consecutive years. In 2007, more than 30 years after dropping out of college, Bill Gates returned to Harvard to receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree.
