IBM Opens Innovation Center in RP

Information Technology giant, IBM, is opening an Innovation Center in the Philippines -- specifically in Ayala TechnoHub, right across the UP Diliman, Quezon City.

The Innovation Center aims to make IBM's cutting-edge technology more accessible to local software developers. "There are between 150,000 to 200,000 developers here and we're looking to take the local [software] industry to the next level," shared Janet Klein, IBM Growth Markets' Director for Independent Software Vendors and Developer Relations.

IBM has opened Innovation Centers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will likewise open one in Vietnam as part of its strategy to concentrate software development in growing markets like South East Asia.
