CloudFone Go SP with Spotify Earphones Sells for Php 2,299

To help Filipinos who are still using a basic phone to finally migrate to their first ever smartphone, CloudFone quietly released the CloudFone Go SP, a large screen Android Marshmallow device with Spotify headphones and an affordable price tag.

Last year, CloudFone - in partnership with Spotify - released the affordable CloudFone Spotify Lite, which did fairly well in the market -- despite having a rather small 4-inch display.

This time around, the Pinoy handset maker opted to release a follow-up with more screen real estate as the "CloudFone Go SP" has a 5-inch display, which should deliver a better viewing experience.

What I like about this release is it comes bundled with Spotify headphones (with in-ear silicone buds) at almost the same price point as its predecessor.

For only Php 2,299, Filipinos on a tight budget can now have their first smartphone for instant access to the most popular social media networks and for better music listening experience with the pre-installed Spotify app on the go -- hence the name "GO SP".

While the CloudFone Go SP is far from a gaming device with monster specs, it is definitely more than sufficient for browsing and updating Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can also use it for browsing the web, watching YouTube, making calls and sending texts, as well as running non-graphic intensive apps.

Technical specs include Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, 1.3 Quad Core Processor, 512 MB RAM with 8GB of ROM, 5" FWVGA Touchscreen, 5MP rear camera with flash, VGA (TBC) front camera for selfies, 3G and WiFi for connectivity plus free Spotify Earphones.

As for the design, the phone has an all glass front, flaunts rounded edges, and comes with interchangeable polycarbonate back covers (I heard there's an extra shell included in the package).

Although CloudFone has yet to fomally announce this model, CloudFone Go SP has already been spotted at select CloudFone stores, kiosks, and partner dealers nationwide. If you're looking for a cool  Android handset in this price bracket, you might want to check this one out.
