realme X50 Pro 5G Philippines Specs, Smart Signature Postpaid Plan Details, Actual Unit Photos

In July 2020, at the height of local quarantine procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection in the Philippines, hotshot tech brand realme formally launched its first ever flagship smartphone in the country in the form of the imaging powerhouse realme X3 SuperZoom.

That highly-rated handset came with great technical specifications as well as stellar stills photography and video recording capabilities, which proved realme's capability in crafting a truly high-end device.

This month - December 2020, as the entire nation hopes for the continued dropping of the COVID-19 curve, realme introduced its first 5G-enabled top-of-the-line Android smartphone in the Philippines. It also happens to be its first model to be bundled with a postpaid plan of the country's leading mobile services provider, Smart Communications.

Shown in all images in this TechPinas post, the powerhouse realme X50 Pro 5G represents the very best that the company has to offer in the smartphone category as of writing, from design to internal specs, imaging prowess all the way to charging speed.

Flaunting a real metal mid-frame that gently curves on the sides and an a frosted scratch-resistant rear glass panel, the very striking and ultra-sleek realme X50 Pro 5G is exclusively available via Smart Signature Postpaid Plan M 1899 with a one-time cash-out of PHP 6,900.

Smart's 5G network can now be enjoyed in select areas in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Boracay. What's great is that all Smart subscribers are now automatically provisioned for the MVP-company's 5G-network, no need for SIM activation.

During the media launch of this model which was mounted by both realme and Smart, I asked Mr. Vince Hipol - Smart's Postpaid Acquision Head - just how fast Smart's 5G mobile data speeds are and he said that it depends on the area where you are located but during his tests, he got 600 Mbps download speeds and around 50 Mbps upload speeds, which are very realistic.

Going back to the realme X50 Pro 5G, as a tech blogger who has been playing with this phone for a week now, I would say that there are five reasons why I am highly inclined to recommend this top-of-the-line smartphone, especially for those who are currently using a midrange Android smartphone and are now thinking of leveling-up to a more powerful daily driver.

First, the 6.44-inch FullHD+ SuperAMOLED display is not only super brilliant and vibrant but it also has 90Hz refresh rate that delivers buttery smooth screen transitions and touch response. We usually experience such high refresh rate on IPS screens but rarely on SuperAMOLED panels so I think this is will be a real visual treat for many consumers.

On top of that, the display also has very thin bezels on all sides even at the bottom, so if you hate that "big chin" on smartphones, you will be happy to know that the realme X50 Pro doesn't have that. The bezels are consistently slim all throughout.

Second, the four AI-powered cameras at the back are very reliable for capturing a wide variety of photos that can help you share your stories on social media. This set-up is made up of a 64 MegaPixel f/1.8 main cam that's the best of the bunch in across various lighting conditions and in everyday point-and-shoot photography, a 12 MegaPixel f/2.5 telephoto camera that enables 2 times lossless zoom for instance when you can't get physically closer to your subject, a tertiary 8 MP f/2.3 ultra-wide angle shooter for capturing scale that's ideal for landscape and architectural photography, and finally, a 2 MegaPixel Black-and-White Depth Sensor for adding luscious bokeh effect or more accurate background blur to portraits.

On top of that, realme X50 Pro 5G even has two cameras in front for those who love taking selfies and groufies with their loved ones. The main one has 32 MegaPixel resolution with f/2.5 aperture and secondary snapper has an 8 MegaPixel resolution, f/2.2 aperture, and ultra-wide field of view for including more people in your shots.

SIDE NOTE: One area, though, that I wish realme would work harder on would be the video recording capabilities of their smartphone. Don't get me wrong, their smartphones take good 4K and FullHD videos given their price. However, I'd love to see the company go head to head with titans like Apple and Samsung when it comes to giving their handsets great video recording prowess in terms of clarity of details, stabilization, wide-field-of-view for vlogging, and Auto-HDR - both for the rear and front cameras - to inspire their users to make more compelling content. I also wish that realme would enable external audio support on their smartphones' native camera application. I really believe in realme as a tech company and I know that they can make this happen.

Third - and I would say this is the phone's strongest selling point, realme X50 Pro 5G comes with top-notch set of internal hardware that rivals what you'll find in very expensive super-premium models of other handset brands.

realme X50 Pro 5G Mobile Legends Bang Bang

The X50 Pro 5G runs its realme UI 2.0 customized Android 11 operating system with a beastly industry-leading 7nm Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor that's quite easily the mobile chipset to beat currently with its Adreno 650 GPU that enables buttery-smooth graphics across the board.

The CPU is complemented by a whopping 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM for totally lag-free multitasking experience and blazing fast 256GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage.

Altogether, this set of innards makes realme X50 Pro the most powerful smartphone that the company has ever made available in the Philippines and puts this model right up there with the most capable high-end handsets out in the market.

realme X50 Pro 5G Mobile Legends Bang Bang
If you love playing Mobile Legends : Bang Bang your current midrange smartphones, you will love this game even more than you run it on the realme X50 Pro 5G. From the display all the way to the ultra-smooth gameplay, this handset offers a legitimate level-up!

Fourth, realme X50 Pro 5G is the mobile gamer's dreamphone with its Vapor Cooling System and Tactile Engine Motor, which rarely come together on a smartphone.

The Vapor Cooling System actively lowers the temperature of the device when running very resource intensive games to deliver top-level performance consistently until victory is achieved.

The Tactile Engine Motor, on the other hand, makes use of vibrations to make gameplay more immersive and enjoyable.

Finally, realme X50 Pro 5G comes with incredibly fast 65W SuperDart Fast Charging technology for its 4,200 mAh Li-Po battery pack. With this innovation, you can charge this handset from 0% to 100% in just around 30 minutes! Imagine that!

Thanks to this feature, you can spend less time plugging the phone to an electrical outlet and more time using it to play your favorite games or to create content that you can share with the world.

Also, if you are like me who's always rushing and doing so many things on your smartphone, SuperDart can truly save you in tight situations when you need to get as much juice on your device in the shortest time possible.

As a bundled handset with the 5G-enabled Smart Signature Plan M, you can enjoy the latest generation in wireless connectivity, allowing you to accomplish more on the go and to celebrate your passions.

So did I pique your interest on the realme X50 Pro 5G?Go ahead and take a pick from two colorways, Rust Red or Moss Green! (Obviously, I prefer the former. I just think Rust Red looks so stunning and classy.) Decide fast -- because subscribers who will pre-order a unit until December 10, 2020 will get a free realme Watch worth PHP 3,990.
