LG G4 Complete Specs and Genuine Leather Design, Revealed Ahead of Launch : Do You Like The Look?

There are three things that I absolutely love about my LG G3 (which is currently one of my daily drivers). First, its large and super crisp Quad HD display that's always a sight to behold. Second, the software innovations and interface features like KnockCode and QuickMemo that are unique to LG are very handy and aren't useless bloatware. And finally, the flagship phone's cameras, which are just a joy to use; I love taking selfies and LG G3 is probably the best selfie phone that's out in the market -- thanks to its soft front flash and top-notch Beauty Mode settings.

LG G3 is an incredible phone. It really is. However, just like everything else in the world, it's not perfect. To be very specific, its battery life could be better and it could use a more powerful processor to match its ultra high resolution screen. Nonetheless, all the good things about the handset far outweigh its limitations and that's what made it worthy of our 2014 TechPinas Badge of Excellence Award.

Looking at these new (and hopefully accurate) leaked photos of the 2015 flagship of the Korean company (this time c/o Evan Blass [source]) that's set to supersede my LG G3 and checking out its purported technical specifications, I just feel all the more excited to make the upgrade this year. I just hope that - apart from working on a far more attractive design language for the device - LG has likewise addressed all the issues that consumers pointed out about last year's top-of-the-line model.

Update as of April 29, 2015: LG Mobile has just officially launched its 2015 flagship handset, the LG G4. Amazingly, most of the leaked information presented in this post turned out accurate.

According to insiders, the distinguishing physical characteristic of the LG G4 is its real leather back cover - replete with dual genuine thread across the middle - giving it a more natural feel in the hand.

LG G4 will come in various colors with two design options. One flaunts a familiar metallic finish - albeit with new diamond pattern - while the other has the genuine leather look.

The New QuickCircle Case. I love the one on my LG G3 and I'm certainly going to use one again when I get the LG G4.

LG G4
LG G3 with its 5.5-inch display measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm; It appears that the new model will be taller and wider while having the same screen size and resolution.

LG G4
Like the LG G3, LG G4 will have a removable 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. Here's to hoping that its new processor and software would give it a far longer uptime.

More controls for the camera is always good news.

LG G4 Real Leather

LG G4 Specs
LG G4 Complete Specs c/o GFXBench

As for the specs, apart from those I've shared above, insiders say that the 2015 battleship will sport an LG-made 16 MegaPixel with f/1.8 aperture, Dual Tone Flash, and Laser Autofocus (just like the one that's on the G3) and a whopping 8 MegaPixel front-facing camera for selfies, which I couldn't wait to try out. As for its internal hardware, LG G4 is expected to run its UX-skinned Android 5.1Lollipop OS with a Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, to handle multitasking with 3 GB of RAM, and to have 32GB of internal storage that users can beef up using the phone's microSD card slot.
