Nokia 1 2018 Android Smartphone, To Be Priced at Around $100 USD or PHP 5,200?

Details about HMD Global's most affordable Android handset model for 2018 are now starting to surface online.

Nokia 1, shown in these leaked press photos, is an entry-level smartphone that should be a great choice for those consumers who are a bit tight on budget but are now planning to upgrade to a more powerful daily driver coming from their basic feature-phone.

Rumored to get an official price of $100 USD or around Php 5,200 with current conversion and before taxes, Nokia 1 - purportedly - will feature a 4.5-inch HD IPS display, Android Oreo Go Edition operating system, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, and 4G LTE support.

Based on this set of technical specifications, it's clear that this model won't be a powerhouse smartphone but it will nonetheless be good enough enough for basic tasks like web-browsing, very light gaming, or using social media applications.

As for its design and build, Nokia 1 will have a rounded footprint and a rather plain shell that's predominantly made of plastic. In terms of distinguishing characteristics, there's the metallic accent lining the glass front as well as the oblong camera module at the back.

According to insiders, HMD Global will most likely formally introduce Nokia 1 on February 26, 2018 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. As for the smartphone's global release date, it will most likely be before the end of Q1 2018.
