Xiaomi Mi 10 5G Philippines Price Starts at PHP 34,590, Full Specs, Key Features
One thing I really like about Xiaomi as a handset maker is that they always seem to give the best technical specifications they can to their smartphones in different price brackets.
This is true for their devices in the entry-level to midrange echelons and it's even more resounding in their flagship-level models.
Take for example the all-new Xiaomi Mi 10 5G, which is now officially available in the Philippines for PHP 34,590 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM version and PHP 36,990 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM variant.
For any of those amounts, you already get a top-of-the-line smartphone with a slew of features that you'll usually only see in handsets by other brands that cost upwards of PHP 50,000. It's true.
My favorite feature of Xiaomi Mi 10 5G would have to be its 7nm 2.84 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, which is quite simply the most powerful mobile chipset as of writing this article.
As I've shared in a previous post, this CPU leads all others in terms of raw performance as measured by its Antutu Benchmark Score, which is usually in the area of 550,000. Needless to say, this processor is a real treat on a smartphone that costs less than PHP 40,000.
Matched by the handset's 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage that can easily be augmented using the dedicated microSD card slot, Mi 10 5G delivers an ultra-smooth overall mobile experience, including heavy gaming, content creation, and multitasking.
Another stellar highlight of this model would have to be its 6.67-inch FHD+ Curved Super AMOLED display with an impressive 90Hz Refresh Rate for blazing-fast screen transitions and effects as well as HDR10+ technology that delivers more pleasant colors for an enhanced viewing experience when browsing photos, watching videos, and playing supported games.
Great for aspiring mobile photographers and video content creators, Xiaomi Mi 10 5G sports a powerful Quad Rear Camera Module that's easily one of the best imaging set-ups you can get on a smartphone these days.
The main camera at the back is a 108 MegaPixel shooter with wide f/1.7 aperture and large 1/1.33" sensor that makes it a real beast when snapping images of any subject - people, food, greenery, name it - in various lighting conditions, even when there's little ambient light available.
This same camera can also shoot videos up to a whopping 8K resolution, which so few flagship Android smartphones can do. In fact, the only other models that have this feature cost upwards of PHP 50,000. As such, this is clearly a premium feature that Xiaomi had made available on a more accessible device.
Personally, though, I am good with FullHD 60fps EIS-stabilized videos since they don't take up as much space as 4K or 8K clips but they are already good enough for slowing down in post-production. But hey, I still think it's nice that Mi 10 5G gives you the option to record higher resolution videos for future-proofing your content.
Going back to the Four-Camera module, the other shooters include a 13 MegaPixel Ultra-Wide camera that can also record FullHD clips, a 2MP Close-up camera for taking Macro shots, and 2 MegaPixel Depth Sensor that enables Portrait Mode, wherein you can add background blur to just about any subject.
Now, for those who love taking selfies, there's a 20 MegaPixel f/2.0 front-facing camera - housed inside the display's punch hole - that's powered by Xiaomi's own intelligent beautification software. Since this shooter can also record FullHD videos at 30 frames per second, you can also use it for recording "talking head" vlogs or TikTok clips.
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G is powered by a large 4,780 mAh Li-Po Battery that ensures a whole day of uptime with regular use. But if you're a power user who drains the juice of your handset faster than other users, you will love this phone's fast 30W charging support both using the provided travel charger or through a supported wireless charging pad. This was made possible by Power Delivery 3.0 which greatly cuts down charging time so you can have more time to use the handset to celebrate your passions like photography or even just watching Korean TV Series.
Finally, the Mi 10 5G - as its name suggests - lets you enjoy the latest generation 5G mobile internet speeds, which will soon be rolled out for public consumption in the Philippines by the two largest networks. Ideally, 5G speeds should be in the area of 100GBps, which will be particularly useful for downloading ultra-high-definition video content and heavy applications or for powering IoT devices in the near future.
