On Wednesday - December 22, 2021, the Philippines' leading mobile services provider Smart Communications Inc. announced that it's offering eSIM conversion for its Smart Signature Subscribers at all Smart stores across the Philippines. This is part of the company's thrust to provide a world-class customer experience to Filipino mobile users.

As of writing, the eSIM works on compatible smartphones available with Smart Signature Device Plans, including the Apple iPhone 13, 12, and 11 Series, the Samsung Galaxy Z Series and Galaxy S21 Series, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series, among a few others.

In a nutshell, the eSIM is an embedded chip inside an Android smartphone or an Apple device that enables subscribers to conveniently activate their cellular network with their carrier. But using an eSIM instead of older generation SIM cards, subscribers can activate a mobile plan between multiple operator profiles without having to swap or change their physical SIM. The Smart Signature eSIM can store the subscribers' network settings and it allows them to use Smart's network and services.
