Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity Price Php 14,999, Specs, Release Date : 5.5-Inch Octa Core Android Smartphone, Official!

Feels like only yesterday when local electronics giant Cherry Mobile officially announced its early 2014 flagship Android smartphone, the Octa-Core Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2. Now, they're bringing to the market its hybrid counterpart, the Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity, which has formally become the company's newest Android phablet flagship.

Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity

Priced at Php 14,999, Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity comes not only with the best design and construction that the company could have given any of its smartphone releases this year thus far - highlighted by its unibody aluminum shell - but it also features the best technical specifications in CM's handset category.

The smartphone-tablet hybrid sports a massive 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display, 18 MegaPixel autofocus camera at the back replete with BSI sensor and LED flash, 8 MegaPixel front cam, and 1080p Full HD video recorder. As for connectivity, Miracast Ready and Dual SIM Dual 3G Standby Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity supports WiFi, Bluetooth, and 3G HSPA+.

Underneath the non-removable back plate, we'll find the 2,900 mAh Li-Ion battery pack powering the device as it runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system sans custom skin with its powerhouse 1.7 GHz Octa Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU and Mali-450 GPU based MediaTek MT6592 chipset. This SoC is complemented by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM, which - sadly - is not expandable as the phablet lacks a microSD card slot.

Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity is now available at all CM Kiosks, Concept Stores, and partner retailers across the archipelago. I was told that it will initially come in two colors, Black and White.

Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity vs. THL T200 in a Nutshell

Given its SRP, it's clear that Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity directly competes with THL T200, which was introduced in the Philippines by Novo7Tech via TechPinas last March 17, 2014. The two phablets share the same price tag and largely similar technical specifications (including the Blue Filter Sony Lens of their front and back shooters) -- except that THL T200 has a larger 6-inch display, microSD card slot and ships with two removable 2,500 mAh battery packs.

Design-wise, THL T200 flaunts a plastic shell with lush chrome accents running down its sides while Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity - as mentioned - has a real metal enclosure.

Purchasing either of the phablets ahead of others will likewise give you freebies; You will get a Pyxis BT Speaker valued at Php 1,499 when you get Cherry Mobile Omega Infinity while THL T200 will give you a monstrous 20,000 mAh powerbank worth around Php 3,000. I would suggest that you first call the store where you intend to buy your phablet to check if these bundled free items are still available.
