Gionee Philippines Headquarters in Photos: Gionee Returns to PH in 2018

On Thursday - January 18, 2018, I graced the warm invitation of our friends from the 'new' Gionee Philippines to visit their freshly opened headquarters located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

This year - 2018, Gionee is returning and starting anew in our country through another official and exclusive local distribution partner -- and this time, they want to get things right and extend their stay here for as long as possible.

I'm sure this will put a smile on the faces of the brand's thousands upon thousands of Filipino fans across the country who continue to believe in the quality of Gionee products. The company's local presence can only mean that future Gionee handsets launched in China will have a higher chance of also being release here. And of course, this also pretty much guarantees after-sales support for these upcoming smartphones.

Gionee HQ PH Entrance

Gionee PH's new HQ is located inside AIC Burgundy Empire Tower and when I visited, it was obvious that they were just settling in.

The company is taking up two large office spaces. One is for training their trade marketers while the other holds the marketing, accounting, and administrative departments.

I arrived at around 4:30 PM and I saw that a workshop for trainees was being done in the other room. I knew I couldn't take photos of that so I just asked our friends if I could take shots of the area for their marketing department.

Although the area is not that big, it felt open because there aren't any tall walls separating work stations. The white and orange cubicles make use of the space efficiently and are also in line with the brand's color palette.

On the walls, there are large posters detailing the identity and history of Gionee as a company.

"Established in September 2002, Gionee Communication Equioment Co. Ltd. is devoted to developing innovative cellular mobile devices for users who [value] connection.

With more than 1500 engineers and 4 R&D centers, Gionee's performance on complete unit development is guaranteed.

In addition, the production capacity of the "Gionee Industrial Park" has the ability to reach 80 million units per year, making it the largest mobile phone production base in Asia.

Gionee has a reputation of product quality and reliability. It has expanded its business to 50 countries including China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and America.

For 15 years, Gionee continues to proactively work with work-class suppliers and contribute to an open market for all stakeholders."

Here, we can see Gionee's milestones:

2002 - Gionee was founded
2005 - Gionee obtained license to manufacture GSM and CDMA devices
2006 - Gionee industrial park was established
2010 - Gionee's business covered more than 50 countries around the world
2014 - Gionee products reached Nigeria, Vietnam, and Myanmar
2015 - With Foxconn, Gionee started manufacturing devices in India
2016 - Gionee officially launched its new brand identity, "Make Smiles" at MWC 2016
2017 - The company announced its new lineup of A Series smartphones, A1 and A1 Plus, at MWC 2017

As of January 2018, Gionee is actively selling its products in the following countries and territories across the globe:

Asia Pacific: China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan

Middle East: Dubai, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen, Israel

Europe: Russia, Italy, Germany, Spain, Romania, Ukraine, Portugal, Poland

North and South America: USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina

A great quotation posted on the wall for all employees to see: "Working hard for something we don't about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion."

I wish I could show you more photos of the HQ but some areas are restricted and are still being "fixed" to look better.

As of writing, the New Gionee PH only has one smartphone model that's available in the market.

Gionee A1 Lite is the brand's "Super Selfie, Super Battery" budget handset. The phone has a 5.3 inch HD display, a 20 MegaPixel fixed focus Selfie Camera in front, 13 MP AF camera at the back, a fingerprint scanner, and a massive 4,000 mAh battery pack, ensuring extended uptime.

Inside, it runs its Amigo-UI-skinned Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with a 1.3 GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6753 processor, has 3GB of RAM for multitasking, and comes with 32GB of expandable storage.

"We'll surely launch a handful of amazing handsets in the midrange and high-end price brackets within 2018. In fact, a model that has a really big battery on top of great specs and imaging capabilities is arriving really, really soon. We're excited and I'm inviting our fans to stay tuned for updates," one of friends from Gionee PH told me.

Exciting times for Gionee and its Pinoy fans indeed!

Thanks for having me and taking me around your 'home', Gionee PH!
