Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Deluxe Price is Php 5,999 : Unboxing, Specs, Key Features, Actual Unit Photos

In 2017, we saw the rise and proliferation of smartphones having a tall 18:9 aspect ratio display in the high-end and midrange price brackets.

This year - thanks to brands like Cherry Mobile, this cool feature, which increases the viewing area on devices while keeping their footprint small, is finally coming to the entry-level echelon.

As of writing, the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Deluxe is the most affordable handset from the Proudly Pinoy company to have this trendy display type, which CM calls "TrueView" screen.

This model is now available at all Cherry Mobile concept stores nationwide for only Php 5,999 and it's out in just one color: Black.

Let's do a quick unboxing of the official retail package.

The smartphone ships in this white box, which has an image of the device inside it printed on the cover.

At the bottom, the company listed down the key technical specifications of Flare S6 including the 5.7-inch HD+ IPS Display , 13 MegaPixel autofocus rear camera with back-side illuminated Sony sensor, 8 MegaPixel BSI fixed focus front cam with wide-angle lens, Dual SIM capability, and removable 3,000 mAh battery pack.

As for the internal specs, this handset runs a slightly customized Android 7.0 Nougat experience with a 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 and Mali-T720 GPU based MediaTek MT6737 processor, has 2GB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of expandable storage.

Here's the complete retail package that you'll get for Php 5,999. Let's take a look at the items one by one.

The earphones don't have in-ear silicone buds but it comes with a microphone for calls.

If you have the time and patience, read the the user guide, which contains basic information about this model.

You need this microUSB to USB cable for charging the phone or for connecting it to a computer.

And finally, we have the unit itself:

Just a few things I want to note:

1. The display is protected by a 2.5D Curved Glass panel, which works nicely with the high-gloss polycarbonate back plate to give the phone an air of sophistication and elegance. This is a great looking entry level phone, indeed.

2. The rear cam features an IMX 135 sensor from Sony, which allows it to perform well even in low light conditions and to deliver crisp images when there's ample ambient light.

3. The selfie-cam, as I've said, has a wide-angle lens that makes it great for snapping "wefies" or for taking selfies with wide background for better context.
