TechPinas Turns 10

On November 28, 2008 in my bedroom here in Tondo, Manila, TechPinas was born.

Today - November 28, 2018, TechPinas celebrates its 10 birthday!

A decade feels like an infinity in the professional blogging world -- and I'm very grateful and so delighted that this project of mine has lasted this long.

I am not one for big celebrations so in this post, I'll just tell you what's in my heart as a solo blogger who has consistently received a ton of love and support from my family, friends, my partners, and of course, my dear readers who remained loyal to TechPinas through all these years.

Without your support and all the blessing from our Good Lord, I wouldn't be here -- so thank you so much for all that you have given me.

TechPinas

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to all of the wonderful people behind the tech companies and brands that have trusted and helped sustain TechPinas - in all its years of existence - through long-term partnerships and campaigns including Google - especially the Adsense Team whom I even had a meeting with in 2010, Nokia, BlackBerry, Sony, O+ USA, OPPO, Vivo, Cherry Mobile, Huawei, Cloudfone, Starmobile, Epson, Kimstore, MyPhone, LG, Quantum Tech, Meizu and THL through Novo7Tech, Asus, Gionee, ZTE, Playground, FitBit, Fossil, Elecom, Silicon Power, Romoss, Xiaomi, Power Mac Center, argomall, MSI-ECS, and Digits Trading Corporation, among many others. You guys are the best -- without you, TechPinas wouldn't have survived its initial years.

My heart also goes to my friends in my network partners who have gotten me as one of their digital ambassadors, namely, Globe Telecom, Sun Cellular, and Smart Communications. Thank you for seeing me as someone who is trust-worthy enough to represent these big brands.

I'd like to say 'thank you' to all PR and Events agencies that have invited me to the many tech events in and outside the country which I have graced in the past decade, including Bridges PR, Ogilvy, Virtusio, Tribal DDB, Ripple8, EON, Green Bulb, Fuentes Manila, Strategic Edge, Extant PR, Fifth Gear Ads and Promotions, RED Entertainment, PRC, Brandcomm, and Ardent, among others. Thank you for the opportunity that you have given me to take part at your events for your clients!

Many respected media agencies have also helped amplify my voice and have allowed me to share what I know about technology to Filipinos across the country and beyond. I'd like to say thank you to my amazing friends at ABS-CBN, ANC, GMA7, GMA News TV, DZMM, Rappler, and Manila Bulletin for tapping me as a tech and gadget expert.

I have really cool peers and colleagues in the local blogging scene -- and many of them have become my confidantes and buddies. Being with some of them have already been one reason why I lasted in this industry for so long.

There are also specific people in these companies who have particularly given me a ton of support to sustain TechPinas through the years - ones whom already I consider as my dear friends - who deserve my utmost gratitude, I'd love to mention all of them here but I might miss someone so I'll just message them all personally and privately to say "Thank you so much for everything!"

To my current writer fellows, former interns, and contributors from various universities around the country including Nico Aguila, Aaron Gripal, Dino Prestado, Oreo Pontejos, and Johann Villanueva, thank you for being part of TechPinas.

Of course, I'd like to thank my family for allowing me to pursue what I really want to do in life. In the end, this gave me a profession that's really indistinguishable from my passion -- and I consider it a real blessing and a true joy in life to be in this position.

Finally, let me express my gratitude to my loyal readers and viewers - all 56,000 of you on Facebook, 23,000 on Youtube, 20,000 on Twitter, and 7,200 on Instragram so far - for standing by me in all of those incredible 10 straight years. Although I run TechPinas on my own, I never felt alone because of all of you. I hope that you were able to learn value insights from TechPinas in the 10 years of us being together.

For my followers who may be wondering, I am indeed planning to do gadget giveaways to celebrate my 10th year as a tech blogger. However, I indeed to do it many times in a span of several months instead of a one time big time affair. Stay tuned for the announcement of the first giveway!

Being a tech blogger has allowed me to provide for my family, to travel the world, and to enjoy the finer things in life -- but really, the best part in all of it is being in a position to help other people by sharing what I know and using my clout to contribute to making the world a better place.

The 10 Years of TechPinas has been filled with exciting and meaningful adventures. However, I am just getting started! Please stay with me in our next incredible adventures!

Thank You, Lord, for everything! Mama Mary, this is all for you.
