OnePlus 8T 5G Philippines Price is PHP 29,990, Specs, Features, Availability in the Philippines

I know many of you here are big OnePlus fans, so here's something for you!

OnePlus 8T, the 2020 iteration to the company's popular flagship-killer Android smartphone line is now officially available in the Philippines!

You can now pre-order your 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM Lunar Silver variant for PHP 29,990 at HomeOffice.PH, the online store of Digital Walker, which is the official distributor of OnePlus handsets in country.

Digital Walker recently opened this online channel to make it easier and more convenient for Pinoy gadget fans to buy devices from them in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and all the changes that are expected to come from it.

Just like all the powerhouse OnePlus models that it superseded, OnePlus 8T offers flagship features for a fairly accessible price. Although, frankly, it now has legitimate competitors that are capable of giving it a good run for the people's money unlike the company's initial releases.

If you ask me, however, this model has three notable features that many consumers will surely find very attractive.

First, it has a 6.5-inch FullHD+ Optic AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and 120Hz refresh rate, which is a real treat in this price point. AMOLED, in itself, is already top-tier specification but when matched with 120Hz refresh rate - enabling ultra-smooth transitions and touch response - it offer a true visual feast.

Second, this smartphone is powered by the 7nm+ Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor that we usually powers Android smartphones priced upwards of PHP 40,000. This flagship-level processor enables industry-leading gaming experience and overall mobile performance that meets the needs of power users.

Finally, OnePlus 8T is powered by a large 4,500 mAh Li-Po battery that easily delivers a whole day of uptime for most consumers - including casual gamers - and even multiple days if you're just using your smartphone mostly for social media, viewing videos, or reading blogs and articles. But what's even more amazing is that this high-capacity pack supports a whopping 65W fast charging, which lets you charge the handset from 0% to 100% in a little more than half an hour! For me, this is a remarkable feature that puts OnePlus 8T head and shoulders above most devices in this price echelon.

OnePlus 8T features an aluminum midframe with curved sides and corners as well as scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front and back panels. These materials combine to give OnePlus 8T a truly sleek and elegant design identity.

As for imaging capabilities, OnePlus 8T sports a Quad-Rear Camera Module that's made up of a 48 MegaPixel f/1.7 main camera that's the best for low-light and everyday point and shoot photography, a 16 MegaPixel secondary ultra-wide-angle camera for capturing scale, a 5 MegaPixel macro shooter for close-up shots of insects and other diminutive objects, and a 2 MegaPixel Depth Sensor enabling Portrait Mode or Bokeh Effect.

For selfie lovers, there's a 16 MegaPixel f/2.4 front-facing HDR camera that's powered by OnePlus' own beautification software that automatically evens out skin tone and highlights great facial features for self-portraits that are instantly ready for sharing on social media.

If you're a vlogger or Youtuber, you can also rely on OnePlus 8T to be your video-creation companion. The rear camera module can shoot 4K videos at 30 and 60 frames per second and FullHD clips at up to 240fps for buttery-smooth slow motion clips. You may also use the FullHD 30fps front-facing video recorder for recording talking head shots, although, I wish that OnePlus made that shooter capable of recording up to 4K or at least 1080p 60fps for more crisp quality.

Oh, and another thing that's great about OnePlus 8T is that it supports ultra-fast 5G mobile data connection, which is now available in select areas across the Philippines. With speeds of up to 4Gbps, 5G is the latest generation in mobile broadband technology that lets you download large files like 4K movies and huge compressed files of high-resolution photos in a matter of seconds.

So do I recommend this smartphone? Honestly, I have yet to try it out so I can't say for sure. However, given its price and specs, I think it's a solid release that's certainly worth considering if you're a OnePlus fan who's now thinking about upgrading from your aging handset. I am OnePlus smartphone owner myself and I have nothing but good words to say about the quality of this company's products as well as their stellar after-sales support and consistent software upgrades even for older models.

PS: According to our friends from Digital Walker, consumers who will successfully pre-order their OnePlus 8T smartphone via HomeOffice.PH will get PHP 2,000 worth of Home Office Loyalty Points per unit! Loyalty Points can be converted to cash value at 1 point = PHP 1 (One Peso) which can then be used when making another purchase at the online store.
