Lenovo and Motorola Qira AI Expands to More Devices, Apps, and Wearables
Lenovo & Motorola Qira is expanding its personal AI experience across more PCs, Motorola devices, wearables, and everyday applications as Lenovo pushes toward a more connected cross-device ecosystem.
- Wider Device Reach: Lenovo & Motorola Qira is expanding to eligible Lenovo PCs with 16GB of memory, upcoming Android 17-powered Motorola devices, and moto watch ultra, giving more users access to the personal AI experience across different form factors.
- Connected Apps: Through Lenovo's collaboration with Workato, Qira can connect with supported services including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar, while integrations with Notion and Perplexity aim to make research and productivity more seamless.
- Privacy Focus: Lenovo says Qira uses a hybrid, local-first architecture that prioritizes on-device processing where supported, encrypts personal knowledge stored locally, and sends only the prompt and relevant context through secure cloud services when cloud processing is required.
Personal AI is becoming less about having another chatbot on a screen and more about making intelligence available wherever users happen to be working. At Lenovo Innovation World during IFA 2026 in Berlin, Lenovo & Motorola Qira took another step toward that vision by expanding across more devices, applications, services, and markets.
First unveiled at Tech World earlier this year, Qira was designed as a personal AI that can work across compatible Lenovo and Motorola products. Lenovo began bringing that concept to market at MWC in March, when it announced the initial rollout of Lenovo Qira across more than 20 Lenovo devices.
Since then, the company has expanded Qira to more than 80 supported PC configurations across its commercial and consumer portfolios, alongside select tablets and Motorola smartphones. The personal AI currently supports six languages, with more planned, while Lenovo intends to bring the experience to additional device families and form factors by the end of 2026.
One Personal AI Across More Devices
A key idea behind Lenovo & Motorola Qira is that users rarely spend an entire day working from just one device. Notes or ideas may begin on a tablet before moving to a PC, while notifications, messages, and meeting details can become scattered across different applications and screens.
Qira aims to bring prioritized notification summaries and cross-device knowledge into a single interface. This can help users catch up on missed information, recall important details, and continue tasks with less need to jump repeatedly between applications and devices.
Lenovo is now extending support to eligible PCs equipped with 16GB of memory, expanding availability beyond higher-memory configurations. The company is also continuing to optimize its local models to strengthen Qira's on-device AI capabilities.
Eligible users can download Lenovo Qira from Lenovo's website, while the software is expected to come preloaded on supported Lenovo devices at a later date.
Motorola Devices Join In
The expansion will also reach eligible Motorola products as they receive the Android 17 upgrade. According to Lenovo, the rollout will happen gradually, with availability and timing depending on the particular device and market.
Supported Motorola smartphones currently featuring moto ai and tablets with AI Now will receive Motorola Qira through the Android 17 upgrade. This includes eligible select edge, signature, and razr devices.
Qira is also moving beyond smartphones, PCs, and tablets. Motorola Qira will be integrated into moto watch ultra, making it the first wearable to support the personal AI.
Users will be able to raise their wrist or simply say "Hey Qira" to ask general questions or retrieve information using Qira's cross-device knowledge.
Dan Dery, Vice President of AI Ecosystem at Lenovo, said, “Personal AI should not be another app waiting for a prompt. It should understand what matters to you, move with you across devices and help orchestrate next steps across the agents, applications and services you choose. With this next evolution of Lenovo & Motorola Qira, we are bringing that vision closer to reality through intelligence that is built into the device, designed around the individual and developed with privacy, choice and control at its core.”
Connecting Everyday Apps
Qira's expansion is not limited to hardware. Lenovo's new collaboration with Workato will allow Lenovo & Motorola Qira to connect with select applications and services on supported devices.
These include Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar. The idea is to reduce the amount of manual searching users need to do when information is distributed across email, calendars, and collaboration platforms.
For example, when a calendar event changes or an important message arrives through email or a group conversation, users can use Catch Me Up to find the relevant information and potentially take action from the same interface.
Lenovo is also collaborating with Notion and expanding Qira's existing Perplexity integration. Users will be able to connect their Notion account with Qira, allowing them to retrieve information from projects and make edits without constantly switching between apps or devices.
The expanded Perplexity integration, meanwhile, will enable deeper research experiences, including visual references for users' interests and goals.
Local-First Privacy
As Qira gains access to more personal information and connected services, Lenovo is emphasizing privacy, security, and user control as foundational parts of the experience.
Its hybrid, local-first architecture prioritizes on-device processing where supported. Information added to a user's personal knowledge base is encrypted and stored locally.
When a requested experience requires cloud processing, Lenovo says Qira sends only the prompt and relevant context necessary for the particular request through secure, encrypted cloud services. Connected experiences also remain subject to user permission and control.
Availability
The availability, timing, and exact experience of the Qira features showcased at IFA 2026 may differ depending on the device, market, configuration, and platform.
Certain capabilities may require software updates, supported apps or services, user permission, account sign-in, internet connectivity, or specific hardware and software configurations. Connected application functionality may likewise vary according to market, service, and account type.
With Qira moving across more Lenovo PCs, Motorola devices, wearables, and popular productivity applications, Lenovo is steadily building toward its broader concept of one personal AI that can follow users across the devices and services they use throughout the day.
