Samsung Galaxy J4+ Philippines Price is PHP 6,990, Full Specs, Features

In my previous blog post, I showed you the more expensive model of the two new entry-level Android smartphones that Korean Giant Samsung Mobile has just release here in the Philippines.

Now, here's the budget-friendly model - the Samsung Galaxy J4+.

Samsung Galaxy J4+ Philippines, Samsung Galaxy J4+, Samsung Galaxy J4+ Pink

Actually, this one looks and feels almost exactly like the Samsung Galaxy J6+ -- with a few notable differences here and there. Both handsets have an elegant glass-sandwich look as well rounded sides and corners. In fact, they even share the same weight and dimensions. Heck, I think Samsung merely used the same shell in crafting these two phones -- but I could be wrong.

Being the cheaper model however, Samsung Galaxy J4+ merely has one 13 MegaPixel f/1.9 camera at the back with no companion depth sensor, which means that it doesn't have Live Focus mode that blurs the background of the subject in portraits. Nonetheless, this sole shooter is practically the same as the primary cam of the Galaxy J6+ so users can expect it to work well even in low light settings -- thanks to its relatively wide aperture.

Another noticeable difference is that the J4+ lacks a side-mounted Fingerprint Scanner, which is one of the unique features of the Galaxy J6+. This doesn't mean, though, that the less pricey release in lacking in security features. In fact, to somehow compensate for a lack of a fingerprint sensor, the Galaxy J4+ has Facial Recognition embedded into its front-cam.

Speaking of front-cam, this model has a 5 MegaPixel f/2.2 front-facing camera that's powered by Samsung's own Beauty Mode for selfies. Like the Galaxy J6+, the J4+ also has a Soft LED Flash above the screen, which is useful when snapping self-portraits in dim settings like in bars or outdoors at night.

Inside its sleek shell, Samsung Galaxy J4+ is powered by the same Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor as what's inside the Galaxy J6+. However, J4+ has less RAM and ROM at just 2GB and 16GB, respectively.

Now, as for uptime, the 3,300 mAh battery pack is capable of delivering up to 16 hours of internet use, 15 hours of video playback, and 88 hours of music-play coming from a full charge.

In the Philippines, this model will be out in three colors, namely, Pink, Black, and Gold. The handset sells for PHP 6,990, which is PHP 4,000 less than the SRP of the Galaxy J6+ -- if my math serves me right.
